The UK-based Centre for Economics and Business Research (CEBR) said China's "skilful" management of Covid-19 would boost its relative growth compared to the US and Europe in coming years.
Meanwhile India is tipped to become the third largest economy by 2030.
The CEBR releases its economic league table every year on 26 December.
Although China was the first country hit by Covid-19, it controlled the disease through swift and extremely strict action, meaning it did not need to repeat economically paralysing lockdowns as European countries have done.
As a result, unlike other major economies, it has avoided an economic recession in 2020 and is in fact estimated to see growth of 2% this year.

Shocker.
Also we've seen everywhere that no country "controlled" the disease by catching it early. Everyone knows China flat out lied about all of this.480s / 370b / 495d / 235 x 2 SOHP

Yeah but nobody here seems to care about the greatest rise out of poverty in human history to create the most advanced civilization to have ever existed. All they care about is tearing them down because USA numba won. China will carry the torch of science and mathematics while we continue to be idiots. They will continue to push humanity forward with or without us, and if we fail to step up and lead, they will fill our shoes.
The goal should not be to defeat or destroy China. The goal should be to work with them, get them to come around to some of our perspectives on human rights and other issues while promoting prosperity for all of mankind. We can learn a lot from China's discipline and culture built mostly around STEM. They can learn a lot from our notions of liberty and human rights. We can work together and reach some appropriate middle ground. It's not impossible.

Have you ever spent significant time in China? (i.e., Not as a tourist) Do you think improving human rights in China would strengthen their rise or imperil it?
Hint: Dangerous crimes have an extremely high prosecution rate. And those people never see light of day ever again. They also have strong borders and do whatever possible to ship illegals back. They also have extremely high penalties for drugs.
Gimme a break. They don't need our "human rights" and we should be taking a page from their book instead - looking into improving how we can remove (at least the worst of) filth from our own societies instead.
Now, if you ever do travel to China do take note of the high level of safety you feel compared to what you will feel in any large city in your own country. Compare your own country and ask yourself how your definition of human rights fits in with that picture.
