    Smile Beginner powerlifter

Hey everyone so I picked up a weight for the first time in my life janurary 2020 and got addicted because I saw results real fast, mass and strength wise. I had a 6 month hiatus cuz of COVID but I’ve been back since December and I’ve noticed my strength shot up ridiculously when I began powerlifting training in December, im at 315 bench but I could probably do 325, 520 deadlift, 440 squat when I stopped in may 2020 my maxes were 245 bench, 485 deadlift and 385 squat. I’m not tryna sound vain but I know it takes years to get to this stage for most, I don’t wanna pursue powerlifting unless I can get to the elite level naturally because it’s too much of an injury risk I’m only 19 and 6ft2, weighing 195lbs
When I began I was 18 obvs, 6ft1 and 165 (believe it or not yes I gained 30lbs) I’ll be harsh and say I’m 17% bf but honestly I have visible abs and striations in delts, good genetics I guess. I’d love to have some outside opinions / criticisms on wether I should continue pl or just train casually because it takes a lot of time as a university student.
I’m planning to decide this month as gyms set to reopen because I’m currently training at home( bought a rack and bar and plates) I’m quite addicted for someone who’s been training for so little time feels like I’ve been doing it my whole life lmao extremely weird.

My best advice is to find a group of powerlifters or a powerlifting gym and do whatever they tell you to do.

Where are you located (country/state/city)? I may be able to point you in the right direction.

Hi, thank you for replying, Im from the UK, in london and unfortunately we dont have many powerlifting gyms which sucks but I'm actively looking and surrounding myself with people who do powerlifting.
