Heard rumours that UK gyms will not reopen until the final phase of the lockdown is lifted in May. Any confirmation of this? My local gym is hiring out equipment to cover its loses with speculation it will close soon and only the bigger gyms will survive. I wish they could get around the tight restrictions and offer individual trainers special access, or give vaccinated people some kind of access.

Possibly?, but the devolved regions have jurisdiction on this decision, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland have yet to publish their plans.
Here in Wales the devolved administration appear to be moving faster than the Westminster government, my local weightlifting/powerlifting club is still hopeful that an April opening will be possible, but who knows.
