The WHO and others changed their definition of what a COVID infection is once Biden entered office. It is what I expected would happen. As bad as the economic lockdowns have been for people I'm glad the change occurred though it does have politics involved.

I haven't looked it up, but reported flu cases have been at record lows over the previous months with COVID. With the COVID definition change I suspect now there are more official reported cases of the flu.

I read an article this morning saying that news organizations have begun to change their reporting on COVID. It used to be while President Trump was in office that journalists wrote that government needed to solve the virus issue. Now journalists have changed their tune. It's also interesting how different positivity calculation methods affect the results. The feds use tests-over-tests method(dividing all positive COVID-19 tests by the total number of COVID-19 tests (positive and negative), and then multiplying the result by 100 to get a percent) whereas some states use people-over-people method(in which number of people with positive results is divided by the number of people who had taken tests overall). The former yields smaller positivity rates but the latter is more reflective of actual positivity rates but doesn't look as good.

I forgot how many people have either had it, or been exposed to it, most of them with no symptoms and never got tested so we don't know, but I'm assuming that a majority of people have been exposed at this point. So, approaching heard immunity.

Finally COVID was a great political tool and now that they don't really need it, they put it back in their tool box.
