Days Gone isn't that bad...

Dude when is the last time you played it? On pc it's still a top tier game craphically and for game play and driving. Online is still populated and they still release content even if it is a pay to win scheme. Days gone is no where near it for any aspect of game play. Shooting in gta is still better, driving, graphics, ai...basically every aspect. Days gone is impressive with the amount of zombies it puts on screen I'll give it that. But literally in no other aspect is it better then gta. And this is before you even enter the world of mods.

i know mgtfp hasn't even played most of those other games (maybe none of them except horizon), he's just saying it because sony made day's gone, therefore it's better. If you played them all and feel that way, that's fine. But that's definitely a hot take, most people don't think day's gone is the best open world game ever made. I enjoyed it though.

Days Gone was great as well, and obviously opinions differ but Days Gone gripped me in emotionally more than TW3 ever did, and so for me that plays a large part of it.

When we're talking about story driven games, the magnitude of the emotions you experience during that game is something that I place very high, which is why I enjoyed Days Gone and TLOU2 so much, they brought me down a rabbit hole and tug on my heart strings, the same way a great movie does.

I said RDR2, but yea it' better than GTA as well, although that doesn't mean much being GTA is as old as it is now.

Just the whole "open-world" aspect of it .... It fits straight into the whole "living breathing world" category. NPC's aren't static, they're moving around and about NPCs, Gangs, Police. It's a world that feels lived in and the scenarios for different missions is so varied and different, a lot of mini games, random things to do and see.

Days Gone is just a static sand box for the player to mess in. There are gangs on bikes, but none of them roam around. Same for other NPC factions, once in a while you come across "random events" where you're supposed to save someone and then send him off to a camp, but other than freakers roaming around and small pockets of human enemy groups. The main missions dont have much variety compared to gta v .... I was replaying gta v again pretty recently, so I'm not viewing it through nostalgia goggles lol.


The only thing Days Gone does well is with its movement and gameplay which is far beyond gta v or rockstar's slow moving characters.


A lot of this is understandable though, Bend is a small studio and this is their first AAA game, so it's an excellent first step into that genre for them and I think they did a fine job for their first release.

I enjoyed Days Gone more then TW3 and Horizon Zero Dawn too because of the story. Then again I dont think very highly of TW3 even though i beat it twice and Horizon Zero Dawn was fun game but the story was forgettable infact i forgot what it was about.

HZD had a very ZzzzZZZZzzzzZZzz story, it didn't grip me in at all, and TW3 was more so magical because of the landscape and the characters rather than the story IMO.

Since system launch I have made multiple threads that display hardware superiority of XsX and been called a MS fanboy, most recently by CoalBoy but there are many others I don't remember.

Funny how I get labeled a fanboy by the true fanboys and biased gamers here like yourself as their bias blinds them to the big picture.

I just don't feel as if GTA is anymore varried TBH. Both games throw a skin of sorrento open world objectives in a similar fashion IMO. As far as world being alive I think DG does a better job (again, no big accomplishment as it's a much more modern game). But hey, that's me. Nope. The game was overall critically acclaimed. The story was a flop and criticized because it was unfinished while the gameplay was praised and considered top notch. Still to this day considered best open world gameplay by many.

You should try Forza Horizon 4 its GOAT racing game bruh. I played it for free on xbox gamepass for pc and i liked it so much i bought the expension so i can play that too. Expension was only $8 on sale.

Anyways, just finished the game and I loved it. Beautiful game. Kind of reminds of the Last of us.

The storyline is a bit long but at the end of the game I wanted more of it. The hordes, the gun options and characters make it fun. I hope they make a 2nd one.

There have been many things hinting at Days Gone 2 and I think the upcoming release on PC pretty much confirms it's coming. I found the game great but still lots of room for improvement in many areas which has me excited for a sequel.
