The first name for COVID when it has shown up was, "novel coronavirus infection". Later they renamed to COrona VIrus Disease 2019 So the old coronavirus might be a common cold, but this new one is an uncommon cold. Or that the name says.

This. I'm tired of intellectually dishonest people on the right acting retarded. I was a Molecular Biology major back when I was young and dumb and this entire year and debacle has raised my average blood pressure way too high. Idiots on every side, on TV, in person, politicians and pundits thinking they're doctors, actual doctors acting like politicians. Just stupidity defined and demonstrated. And fuk Fauci; the man's as much a physician as Wincel is a therapist.

The common cold is a term describing multiple mild respiratory infections caused by a variety of viruses of which coronaviruses are a part of. There's qite a number of viral families that cause mild and more severe respiratory infections.

Coronavirus 19 or SARS-COV-2 or whatever is at its basic level not much more concerning than most other virus of this kind. People have been dying from colds and influenza for millions of years you just haven't heard about it until 2020 because now its an easy way to get orange man out of office. The fact that its even labeled "SARS" is ridiculous as the mortality rate and average severity of it isn't near as serious as SARS was. It is more contagious than other respiratory viruses (being that it is a novel virus and nobody had immunity) and it does affect the elderly and ill-health individuals more severely than your average cold - but it's not the apocalypse. If Clinton was president you likely would not have even heard that some new virus evolved in China. And now that everyone is so royally freaked out by it, and the fact that there's money to be made, vaccines were developed at incredibly fast rates and in high quantities so rich people can continue to get richer and go back to normal and the sheeple stop getting freaked out over it.

That doesn't mean that virus is absolutely benign in all ways and is the same as previous coronaviruses.

Post makes sense now. Haven't you guys figured out how to buy a generator and cold weather PPE? I thought you all were proud to be rugged frontiersmen. In Florida we get numerous hurricanes a year and don't die because we discovered things like generators and butane stoves and food reserves.
