I started listening to him in the late 1990s. He shaped my conservative views for sure (although I now consider myself anarcho / libertarian). But he was influential in moving me away from liberalism for sure.

He was on AM radio which was all I could get in the car I had while in college in the early 90’s. So I had him on a lot and it was interesting to listen to. Later on as his influence grew, I believe he fell into a place I wasn’t interested in listening to anymore.

If Rush had leaned libertarian at all he could've been a big force for positive political change. Instead, IMO he wasted his position and place in the world merely pushing politics as usual.

I haven’t and won’t miss his voice. Others will. It’s the same with all.

No one can replace in my opinion. Aside from politicians (Goldwater, Reagan), Rush's influence on the American conservative movement is probably only second to William Buckley. Almost the entire right wing media ecosystem exists because of him.

I worked for the EPA in the early 90s at a research lab. When I first started, I'd play Rush in my office but kept it kinda quiet. One day the lady came around delivering mail. She stopped for a minute and listened and then said "I think everyone in this building listens to that guy".

I've since soured on him, but appreciate his voice. Many others have tried to do what he does, some successful to a certain degree, but nobody was as good. Haven't listened in years. Although I haven't been a fan lately, 99% of criticisms of him are bull and I'd still defend him as a legit voice.

I could never get used to his whiney, sniveling, condescending nasal voice. I didn't agree with most of what he said but I'll grant he was very good with callers and invited honest debate, he was very quick on his feet.

President Trump and his campaign were doing everything to try to get the laptop stuff out in the open and put people against Biden. Campaigns do that - that’s normal. But nothing came of it and they kept saying it would come out and they ended up losing and doing everything they could to reverse those results. You bring up an excellent point! Since the lockdown my son has gotten stronger and become a better shooter. He also became more enlightened.

Here is another layer of truth that nobody wants to accept: The oligarchs no longer have use for any of us, to include kids. They see no reason to continue the indoctrination. That’s pretty boring. My vote is for an organic robotoid because if there was a legit double you wouldn't get all the glitches. Probably the most convenient way to obtain an age-appropriate clone as well. Pelosi most likely is one too, with her "Good morning. Sunday morning" kernel panic.

On terrestrial radio, Levin I guess. You can not replicate Limbaugh’s success today because the terrestrial radio market is failing as the key demo is 65-to-toetag. Most of Limbaugh’s audience grew old with him, he wasn’t pulling in many new listeners. I read somewhere that less than 10 percent of regular talk radio listeners are 25-54. Podcasters like Rogan are the future of the genre.
