Apparently...

per the company:
"We chose to use microflora (a microorganism such as bacteria, yeast, or in our case, fungi) to make our proteins because they have a long history of safe use making ingredients in many foods you eat today, and because microflora are particularly good at producing animal proteins.
We gave our microflora the genetic “blueprint” corresponding to whey and casein proteins, giving it the ability to produce real milk proteins — identical to what cows produce.
Now, as our flora grazes on simple plant-based inputs, it naturally produces milk proteins."

Finally, a new option for dairy lovers and plant-based fans alike. We’ve invented the world’s first real milk proteins made without animals, so you can enjoy the real taste, texture, and nutrition of dairy, produced sustainably, without the downsides of factory farming, lactose, hormones, or antibiotics.

ya apparently also nothing that has a shadow... but everything has a shadow lol as long as there is a light source to create it.?
No true vegan eats honey though, it’s definitely not vegan. Either is red dye 40, a common food dye made from Beatle shells.
Then some vegans are weird about ketchup because mice may have fallen into the machines and bones are used to bleach sugar? Idk
“ Most ketchups are made from tomatoes, vinegar, salt, spices and some kind of sweetener, like sugar or high fructose corn syrup. The sugar is where things can get hairy. It turns out not all sugar is vegan, because a lot of white sugar is bleached by being filtered through animal bone char. Bone char is a black, porous material made from charred animal bones, namely cattle. The bone char acts as a decolorizing filter for raw sugar.”
Then they also don’t drink many wines and beers and same with vegetarian that are neurotic
“ The reason that all wines are not vegan or even vegetarian-friendly has to do with how the wine is clarified and a process called 'fining'. ... Traditionally the most commonly used fining agents were casein (a milk protein), albumin (egg whites), gelatin (animal protein) and isinglass (fish bladder protein)”
Most tattoo ink comes from charcoal that’s made with animal bones
Apple juice can be filtered with the fish bladder stuff too
Paint balls have gelatin
Here’s a fun list that’s has avocados and condoms on the list

Well they might as well give up because there are insect/larvae parts sneaking into pretty much everything we eat through nature or processing/canning/cooking (fruits/veggies, canned goods, cereal, spices, coffee, etc.).
There are allowable max amounts of insect parts allowed in processed foods. Apologies to those who didn't want know this.
