In what potato world is 1981X "harsh" in any way? It's the sweetest, honey & tobacco bomb with zero harsh edges. U crazy!

@Ninja thanks much for the comparison. Don't get me wrong I found 1981X amazing and probably the best from the house. Having Naxos and going through my decant more these days I feel like I'm enjoying it much more than 81x so I wanted to know if I was crazy.

Scent of the Morning: Alexandria Fragrances - Africano

I feel like this is the first clone I would suggest over the original. OG is slightly more beautiful but what's the point if those notes fade out so freaking quick? You have to douse yourself in sprays I feel to get the OG to work, yet 3 sprays of Africano will go the ENTIRE DAY.

SOTD: AHSEE on repeat

You just cannot go wrong with this one man. People say it's sporty but with the reactions I've gotten from this one, I've reserved it as that knock out first date/meet up sort of fragrance. It feels classy while at the same time not going overboard with taking itself too serious. I should wear this tomorrow, definitely feeling in the mood.

I have Spirito fiorentino. Its br540 with a leather note. The performance is insane, probably best performing cologne i have. Also have foconero, solid aquatic but a bit too much lime makes it sour until the dry down.

Speaking of aquatics:
SOTD: Nishane Ege.

Picked this up recently. Really liking Nishane's take on an aquatic. This one is pretty green but mature and relaxing to wear. Less agressive/polarizing than 40 knots haha.

I only have Ani. Avoided Hacivat because I heard it's mature. I guess I'm a bit of a metro ****git because i prefer sweet/unisex scents over more mature and masculine ones.

I think that 1981X gets you maybe 80%-90% of the way to Naxos, the note lists are very close. Just that the Xerjoff has that refinement. I like AF for the most part but I love Xerjoff as a house.

Yeah 1981X has that same profile but I picked up the immediate punch to your face with some aggressive notes that I remember feeling a little uncomfortable with. With Naxos it's definitely polished because I don't get that feeling.

I feel like Xerjoff is similar to Roja in that they have great blending, but some scents are weird/unique and might throw people off. I've tried 3 of their most mass appealing ones and those 3 are fuking phenomenal though. Nio, Naxos, Italica are all above a 9 in terms of how insanely good their blends are.

Do it *******. It's an eau de cologne though. I've smelled quite a few so it's nothing mind blowing but I really enjoy the balancing between the green, bright and soapy notes. Very uplifting scent for a hot summer day.

My 100ml bottle is from 2004 (7301) and is the EDT Concentree version. I burned through a 50ml 2016 bottle of EDP and they smell the same. Performance seems about the same as well.

There isn't really anything that smells like it, other than Rochas Man Intense..... which you're not going to find for a reasonable price. Rochas Man Intense is a top 10 fragrance for me.


Do you like the coffee part, or the raspberry part? If it's the raspberry, then you want Fields of Rubus by Kerosene. Most realistic raspberry I've ever smelled in a fragrance. And it's the longest lasting juice on the planet (or at least the batch I got years ago is). I can smell it on my skin for several days.

Hmmmm. Barista Elixir is the best coffee fragrance, but it doesn't have any of the citrus notes of Play. I'm not aware of anything really close to Play, although you can still buy new bottles of it on eBay.

Yeah, I love New Haarlem, one of my favorite Bonds. A*Men Pure Tonka is pretty close, and a lot cheaper. I wouldn't say either is very close in smell to Rochas Man, though.

A little sore, but overall okay. I have to chew on the right side of my mouth for a few weeks until the crown for my root canal'd tooth on the left side comes in. If that temporary filling comes out before the crown goes on I am in a world of trouble.

I have some heavy hitter medication on stand by if things become unbearable.
