My one regret in my fragrance-owning career is never having smelled the original LNDL formulation. Any clones or other frags out there that nail the scent? I know Alexandria as well as Armaf make phenomenal clone frags (Club de Nuit Intense for Me, Tres Nuit, Dark Knight, Royal Equestrian are all stellar) but I don't think they have a LNDL clone?

I have about 97/100ml of the 2012 batch (the BEST one) and it's excellent. Occasionally I'll see a bottle pop up in the various FB groups but people always want between $175-300+ for them.

@ op, I suggest you not be bothered too much by it. Most people say the biggest difference is an extra 20% in performance but the smell is more or less the same, just the new ones fade faster. Buy a 200ml of the new one and spray more.

Yep. Easy fix. Life is too short to worry about batch variations. There's always another scent you can get that's similar but has the effect or improvement you want.

Winter I would choose Spicebomb. Right now - UM. I REALLY REALLY REALLY like Ultra Male but it constantly reminds me of one of my douchy frat bros who bathed in the OG Le Male 2x a day which makes me incapable of wearing either. Which is why I wear The Dreamer instead - Same vibe as OG LM without the cringe reminder... Coincidentally my SOTD.

Okay I really dislike mint because it makes me feel nauseated and I can tell you that the mint in Chanel isn't over bearing to my nose at all. Even in Versace Eros. It's like the rounded out, good parts of mint without the sharp burning sickeningly sweet extras.

None of the above have overbearing mint. Ultra Male is mostly sweet and fruity. I wouldn't have even guessed mint was in it.

Yup. I remember a bartender i know up in NY who had NEVER said anything about smelling any scent, walked in one time in the crowded front of the bar and goes "damn what smells good?" Had La Nuit on and sprayed 4 sprays.

I don't pay attention to notes. Notes aren't ingredients, it's just the perfumer giving us an idea of the the olfactory groupings of a scent.

I've seen too many times where frags have near identical notes but smell completely different, while frags with massively different note breakdowns smell the damn same.

Again, I pretty much hate mint but it absolutely is not prominent in ultra male at all. I'd have never thought there was mint in there until I saw the official notes. Ultra male smells like a fruit punch to me.

God, so terrible IMO. The opening is literally like sniffing an actual grapefuit

I am super impressed with how they pulled that off because the level of authenticity when compared to the actual fruit is absolutely insane.

Overall though, I hate it because I hate everything grapefruit

I know Dua has a clone of YSL La Nuit 2010 batch. I've never tried it though, since I already have several vintage bottles of YSL La Nuit.
