The military must be getting all the mk262 because that stuff has been non-existent for a long time now.

just got back from my first time solo at the range. 2nd time shooting ever.
i am disappointed. i had a lot of failure to feeds, stovepipes, jams in my AR and Glock 17. my MP was fine. I was sure i wasn't limp wristing the Glock so im hoping it was the ammo (Blazer). the AR had some failure to feeds with Red army steel .223 and Federal LE .223. maybe the guns need to be broken in? Glock also had trouble with hornady critical defense hollows.
idk. need an experienced shooter to come with me next time.Toxic Male Energy

Yeah, the handgun roster is fcked; used to be able to get around it with the single shot loophole (how I got my gen 4 G21 before becoming a C/O) but they put a stop to that. Make pistol single shot, sell pistol, buyer makes it not single shot. Law was moot and just an annoyance.

TBH if you have that many failures with a glock, you are likely the problem. Work on grip, and maybe look into a basic class to help, an instructor will recognize problems you wont. The AR can be different things, gas too low/high would be a likely one.
I've run thousands of rounds through glocks, cheap ass Russian sht even, and still rarely issues.
Plenty of Youtube videos too on how to hold glocks, ect you can look into.Short cuts to success are often paved with lies.

I've never had a failure or jam on my glock but I've only shot about a 1k rounds through it. Even worse, I've only shot WWB and herters dirty ass ammo. Maybe that's why, maybe I'm not using ammo that slams the slide back too fast or something.

You're going to want to put your phone down recording where it has your firearm and hands in view. Then post.
Probably you are interfering with the slide stop/lock/release lever, or maybe the movement of the slide itself, probably with a thumb if so.
Also make sure you are adequately oiling them. If in doubt, use more. Do follow the manual or a good YouTube channel to make sure the oil is going in the right place, but, so long as you aren't oiling where you aren't supposed to (like, don't oil the striker channel of the Glock), more is better than less
As a point of reference, since I started keeping track of rounds fired through my guns, my Glocks collectively have 1 malfunction in over 8,000 rounds (and that one was a failure to fire with Wincrapper ammo)
Edit: Also make sure your hand is high enough on the grip. It's not really muscle gripping the gun that causes "limp wrist", it's not having your arm behind the recoil impulse/not having your hand up high enough on the back of the grip

hmmm I've never had to troubleshoot my glocks but it could be moving too fast and just getting back to reset before the magazine pushes it up? That could explain the stovepiping since the extractor doesn't have time to clear the chamber.
I wouldn't say that means your ammo is bad.
just take a vid of it and that will tell you what you need to knowBoycott foodservice industry crew

got to snag a video next time.
so i dont want my thumbs on the slide but on the frame? i think my grip was high enough. this was my first time shooting my Glock and AR so i haven't cleaned or oiled them yet. the M&P was oiled.
i was pretty disappointed cause i know these are reliable guns and it was probably user error. it was frustrating for sure. makes me want to keep the M&P on the nightstand instead..lolToxic Male Energy

Looking for a decent holster for my G19, that has retention and will fit a light, looking at the Olight Baldr Pro and can't find sht. I use a Blackhawk CQC for reference since I love how the retention release is placed on it.
Light I'm looking at: https://smile.amazon.com/Olight-Tact...%2C1026&sr=8-6
Current Holster for reference: https://smile.amazon.com/BlackHawk-S...s%2C337&sr=8-2
Any suggestions? Can go with a Streamlight or something too, but can't find a good retention holster for those either, they all just use friction and not an actual lock.Short cuts to success are often paved with lies.

An AR lower is not a firearm receiver. Therefore, it does not require a serial number.
Title 27, Code of Federal Regulations, section 478.11 defines a “firearm receiver” as, “[t]hat part of a firearm which provides housing for the hammer, bolt or breechblock, and firing mechanism, and which is usually threaded at its forward portion to receive the barrel.”▪█─────█▪ Equipment Crew #53 ▪█─────█▪

Make sure your right thumb isn't against the slide. Probably want right thumb more on top of left hand/thumb, as opposed to inside
Having never oiled either gun is probably a factor. You 'should' be able to run a factory new Glock without oiling it first, but it's better to read the owner's manual (and consult the old YouTube) to give it a once over, and oil it. AR definitely probably needs oils before shot. A good (or any, really) oil in the right places will let it run for awhile. But dry, das not it

At a glance, left hand thumb might be hitting the slide release, so that would effect slide lock. White knuckle death grip? Could be holding it too tight with support hand; no need to squeeze that hard. Tight grip works well on revolvers, but a firm grip works fine on a regular pistol. If your thumbs press against the slide as you squeeze it can effect the gun too, my brother does this a lot, less pressure on the thumbs since it will definitely stop the slide from functioning properly and can push shots to the right.
