finally getting my aero upper tomorrow for my sheety anderson lower I have with a2 stock and sparrow compliant grip.

Will be my first AR-15 so I have a parts list of items to finish my build that I want input on to see if they are good enough for a budget Cali compliant home defense rifle.

Save some money with the following:
As others said, drop the bad lever.
Also, Im not too familiar with CA laws, but the 10/10 mags also seem gimmicky. Try to get get away with magpul couplers to save a few bucks if you really want to couple mags.
Get a cheap muzzle break for now, upgrade later. Optic is way more important.

I've got two 5.56 barrels on the way because reasons. I plan on returning one.

any suggestions on which to keep? I have literally no idea why I should choose one over the other besides weight but surely there are other things to consider? I know they use different size gas blocks.

Lightweight all the way. Makes a huge difference in transitions, snap shooting from low ready, and it feels like a lightsaber.

It's not bad, really, and the price absolutely cannot be beat. Unless you're mounting a suppressor (cali, lmao), don't spend money on the muzzle device on your first AR

Yes, you could. Well, kind of, the IMI Razorcore clone, which is very good stuff, and not as expensive as the Black Hills actual mk262 (which is just too expensive it was >$1/round before prices spiked I mean geez)

Anyway, I already have mk262 covered. This is better barrier ammo so for private citizen defense in and around residences and maybe vehicles, is probably better. My longer barrels with LPVO's get zero'd for mk262 and the shorter handier arms get Fusion MSR or now mk318
