Idk about Wilson, but Ryan and Newton simply regressed to what their typical regular seasons were like after their SB losses. Both Newton and Ryan's MVP seasons were atypical to their normal regular season performances(Obviously because its an MVP season..but its not like they compete for MVP every single year). Ryan had a great 2018, and Newton returned to his potential filled regular seasons that were always ruined by his inaccuracy and INTs.
Mahomes has had 3 undeniably great years and already has a ring. He was just outclassed by TB defense. He had no time. He was still putting up crazy throws no other QB could do..fadeaways...off balance...one foot, etc and landing them in the helmet of his receivers....
Not to mention KC Defense really chit the bed. Seriously.
its an overreaction...Mahomes won't be fazed by this.Hi

Due to injuries and opt outs Mahomes was playing with third stringers as his offensive line tonight, pretty evident when he’s running for his life once the ball is snapped. The fact he only got sacked three times is pretty amazing. The line should be much improved next year and he’ll be back to looking elite.

They didn't **** the bed. They were clinically dissected and shook by the greatest QB of all time.
The Chiefs will be fine though. I expect them to win a Super Bowl in the next season or two. Either way, they're in their window to win now. Better take advantage of it while it lasts.Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don’t matter and those who matter don’t mind.

A crazy amount of penalties. I think they were all good calls too.
Brady def gets his due..taking nothing from the GOAT. When the Chiefs weren’t getting penalties, they were getting pieced by Brady and co, but damn they could have at least helped out KC offense a little by not holding every single play.Hi

I think it’s pretty big. I don’t see Mahomes winning 3+ Super Bowls after this
Maybe 2-3 in his career. Look a Rustled Wilson, got shook and hasn’t sniffed a Super Bowl since
A lot of up in comers vying for the bowl are turning up, Trevor Lawrence will be the next Peyton Manning and knock Mahomes out of a lot of postseasons. Andy Reid will probably retire soon with his chitshow family. Injuries starting to pile up on Mahomes. Brady retirement not in sight. All doesn’t bold well for Mahomes
Actually In modern times you can’t find many Dominate superbowl QBs.. after Brady the most impressive QB is Eli fricking Manning at 2-0Last edited by PITA21; 02-08-2021 at 12:45 AM.

Nah not really. He's way, way better than Russ, Cam, Ryan etc. He'll be back.
He's only 25 and already been to 3 straight AFC championship games. It's highly likely he'll be back to more super bowls. And heck, there's no guarantee at all that Lawrence will be the next Peyton in the pros. Even if he is great, it will likely take at least 3-4 years for him to get there. I'd rather take Deshaun Watson if I had a choice.

Mahomes will be alright. He was still slingin the ball till The end.
He was most likely more angry at his receivers than anything the Bucs did. Had not 1, but 2 amazing plays and crazy throws that would have been Touchdowns but bounced off his receivers face masks.
Starting line people tried to say wouldn’t be an issue... was a iuuuuuuuuge issue.
And the Bucs defensive game plan was flawless.

This. Mahomes was hardly the reason they lost that game. The O-line was the biggest reason. He had zero time to throw the ball. His receivers drops did not help either. The Chiefs just looked completely unprepared for that game on both sides of the ball.
I think he learns from this and comes back better next year. That toe was really bothering him as well, it really limited his mobility.6'1 - 240lbs

games are won in the trenches.
29 QB pressures. most in the super bowl. Mahomes didnt have a chance.
Brady was pressured 4 times. 4. Brady had all damn day and took advantage of it. it's why the yellow flags were flying. Secondary couldnt keep up with all pro caliber receivers. but people can go ahead and keep crying about the flags. ]
but ill say this, Mahomes, despite running for his life, gave guys chances to make catch off throws that were IMPOSSIBLE. spinning ****ing back throws, super man throws, that mf'er wasnt going to give up. if anyone bounces back, he will. respect that guy.Buccaneers/Lightning/Rays/The U

on both plays as well, the ball went through bucs defenders hands. Obstructed those receivers views. tough catches to make for sure. Either way, Mahomes made it possible when he literally ran for his life all game.
I think confidence was something those guys did not have due to the way the bucs defense were swarming that offense. Chiefs didnt have it in them. Bucs did.Buccaneers/Lightning/Rays/The U

Nah he'll be fine. He's young enough to bounce back and compete. His injured offensive line lost him the game. Had no time to throw the ball and let plays develop when JPP and Shaq Barrett were in the backfield every play. Chiefs will continue to dominate with their team, and they'll need to beef up their offensive line to compete.

I was extremely surprised that Mahomes and Co weren't able to find an answer after halftime. The Bucs defense played the same defense the entire game and it seems the Chiefs were trying to run plays right into what the Bucs were taking away.
I don't know why the Chiefs didn't run the ball more. Even when trailing, they had time to run the ball. Bucs were giving the Chiefs all sorts of space underneath and the Chiefs didn't take it. Bucs rushed 4 all game which would have made it easy to run.
I think this game showed a little of Mahomes inexperience. Not saying he played bad or it was his fault for losing, but as Romo was saying all night what the Bucs were doing was playing simple football and the Chiefs couldn't find a way around it.
As far as post Brady blues, I don't think it'll happen with the Chiefs. Not every team is built like the Bucs defense. Bucs front 4 is solid, their linebackers are physical enough to keep Kelce contained and you saw what playing 2 safeties over the top does to contain Hill.
The Chiefs got outplayed in all phases of the game for the first time in a long time. They'll continue to win and be a playoff team.New England Patriot
