Nope, never had an issue. When pressing the nest is upside down, so even if the pin failed the weights wouldn't go anywhere until you flipped them back over.

No, nothing like that has ever come close to happening. The pin is held in place not only by friction but also several small magnets, at least on my Sport 90s. Not sure about current models, especially urethanes. I'd avoid the urethanes in general.

Never once heard of a real/reliable claim to design failing in action.

People throw/drop them and they can get damaged or bent up which ruins the easy nesting ability - that could be construed as failure but blame is all on person and abuse. Maybe the new urethanes rot away over time or have a materials design flaw. I think someone posted an issue with a urethane model here in the past few months.

I have a set of old Pro Rexan 5-130lbs that I love. Old non contoured handles. Feels great. I did have a plate stick once on heavy weight so when I pull them up I look to ensure I see whatever color or combo still in the nest that I expect. Set was used and that home gym saw real use by a real lifter (he had this full set of powerblocks as well as Ironmasters). He took great care of them but sometimes putting 90lbs or more down can be hard so maybe the slightest bend - or maybe just a one off fluke as it's never happened again. Who knows but I do watch my set for this and I think it's good practice as an unsecured plate could certainly be an issue though wouldn't slide off or fall during reps by design but could getting into position.

No failures here but my old pro Rexan 85’s one of my pins is a bit bent and I can’t really get it to straighten. When I place it back in there is a gap it’s not flush against the plastic groove...always worried it might come apart mid rep

You should be able to straighten it enough with a pair of pliers and a vice grip, but if not try contacting PB. They're customer service is pretty good and they may offer to send you a replacement.

I have the U90 and I discovered that the end plate on the red bar which is about 3/4 of the way down the stack had split. God knows how never dropped them. I have stood them on their end for floor press buts that’s it. It still worked fine but I was disappointed. Never had a pin move though

Only issue I've ever had was an extra plate got stuck once, I didn't realize it and when I went to do lateral raises I tossed it across the room. No pin failure, just a freak occurrence.

I did in hopes of them selling me new ones or the type that wrap around such as the newer models (like a double pin on each side)

They told me I’d have to purchased new handles which would run me over 200 and would credit me some if I were the original owner and had proof.

    Pliers it will be!
