Who does black coffee only pre workout?

Not in supplement thread but I can move it there if necessary

How many of you just do straight black coffee?

It’s my favorite and I always go back to it

I kinda prefer real preworkout, but black coffee is practically free and does a similarly good job. I do try to keep a tub on-hand for if I really need a kickstart though

There isn't enough caffeine in most coffee for me, so I do straight caffeine. $7 for 180 tabs at Walmart.

Btw since the topic came up, what are the benefits or using pre-workouts instead of plain coffee, if any?

I drink a ton of coffee daily, so I am hesitant to add more stimulants. But lately I've been wondering if substituting with pre-workout would be beneficial.

I workout with 10-15 mins of rolling out of bed so I don't have time to dick around with hot coffee.
So i use a little bit of Legion Pulse for the caffeine and lately I've been mixing in two servings of PerfectAmino.
I start drinking coffee after breakfast and stop by lunchtime.
I'm so used to coffee, I don't think it even does anything for me energy-wise. I just like drinking it!

    Not at all

Pre workouts with sucralose are bad for gut bacteria

Black coffee has been around for thousands of years, Spartans gave it to their babies.

You know i used to love NoXPlode as a preworkout i swear it gave me way better pumps, but then they changed the formula.

The key to preworkouts is to buy them before they ban the active ingredients

Are they supposed to give you better energy boosts without making you jittery or something? I think I've heard this, but was never sure if it's for real or just promotional BS

I like to have a good double espresso every morning, whether I workout or not.

I'm a slow caffeine metaboliser so it keeps me going pretty much the whole day.

    They are “supposed” to

It’s the supporting ingredients that makes pre workouts more than just stimulants. The supposed pump ingredients that give you road map vascularity and skin tearing muscle pumps.

Some also contain blends that help you focus consisting of nootropics.

I can tell you that in the past they’ve really helped me with my motivation to train, I’ve also had great workouts without them.

Normally black coffee is fine for me. Though I did a 110,000 step walk the other day after about 1g of caffeine from coffee and pre-workout and it powered me like you wouldn't believe.

Black coffee is fine but pre-workout is easier to consume when you're on the move.
I have a good joke about water retention. But I'm going to hold onto it for now.

An Italian man stepped outside to cool off after quarrelling with his wife - and ended up walking 450km (280 miles).
The man told police "I came here on foot, I didn't use any transport". He said "along the way I met people who offered me food and drink"
"I'm OK, just a bit tired," he said, having averaged 60km daily.
Police found him wandering aimlessly and cold at night on a coastal highway.

I can tell you that in the past they’ve really helped me with my motivation to train, I’ve also had great workouts without them.
I see. Sounds like they worked well for you.
I, on the other hand, just drink a ton of coffee daily, gym session or not. Habits picked up after getting through grad school

Sometimes I do drink coffee before working out, and sometimes I don't. I tend to like to use it for a few months (just one cup) and then take time off. Currently I haven't had coffee in about a year and a half. I'll probably go back to it eventually for a little while.
