Do you need a different belt for squatting vs deadlifting? Yes, you can tell from this question, I am new to Bodybuilding.
Tried off and on throughout the years and trying to make it stick this time.

Pioneer Cut 10mm is a great belt. I have a 3" and a 4". The common recommendation is to get a 4" for squatting and then add a 3" if you can't comfortably get into position for deadlifting. This is good advice if you are over 6' tall or have a long torso, but I've heard 3" also recommended as a starting place and that's where I lean. My 3" belt is plenty supportive and works for everything.
I wouldn't get 13mm thick unless you lift really heavy. It's going to be pretty uncomfortable for most people and probably isn't necessary if you have a quality belt like Pioneer.
