I'm thinking like classic or vintage cars that would only be driven at the weekend, maybe take on a track now and then, and could increase in value.
One of my mates has a M3 E46 and another an old boxster both of which I think have appreciated over a few years. Any other cars like this?

Car brahs, what cars could potentially be considered an investment?

Just saw an early 90s mr2 at auction. Seems like any car will start to appreciate if you store it for 30 years. Buddy of mine has a bone stock 70s pinto, people love it. Granted you could rent out a garage for $200 a month so you're losing a lot in storage fees over 30-40 years.

Cars are not investments man.
In for other answers as I am not educated in finances, but I do expect this to be the overwhelming conclusion.I only read thread titles and my own posts.

Unless your rich as fuk. Like can drop 500k+ on a car rich and then just store it for 20 more years your not gonna make anything. This is extreme i know but thats my point.
Market is too flooded with everything and none of it is very cool. Not cool as in its gonna double in value over 20 years anyways.

From Kevs perspective, you have to buy a car and store it for over 30 years, or buy a car that has been stored for 30 years for a high price already.
You could have taken that money and invested it in other ways to make way more return over 30 years.
Buying a car that old doesn’t make sense because you will be paying a lot for it, to sell it for a similar price.
Idk man. I guess it is worth researching. That is free. I just don’t see it being worth it. (Again, uneducated on the topic).I only read thread titles and my own posts.

Cobra kit car. Can be as cheap as $30,000 to build on upwards of closer to $100,000. Build it to your liking using high performance parts. Most here could never own an original...but this way you can build it as you please without desecrating a classic. There’s a whole subculture for these cars. They’ll retain their value and may even appreciate. You can come out on top if you do a lot of the work yourself...especially the paint and body.

If you can get your hands on an s209 that will be it. Good luck finding one though. You’ll love the way it drives, drives better then most super cars, from Japan and only 200 made in the world. Comes with custom badging, hand made car in Japan + comes with a signature authentic paper

A guy I work with bought a 1980's Ford Sierra Cosworth, a few year later it doubled in value, probably worth £40 000 now. Even my old Rover has gone up in value quite a bit in the past 5 years. Get good condition cars that are a bit more stylish and rarer than the norm and they can be an investment.

Watches will retain their value much better than vehicles. They make for a better investment, although it needs to be said that luxuries aren't investments at all.
You are better off buying an affordable vehicle and putting everything else that would have gone into buying an expensive car towards stocks or better yet, land.PubMed and Chiral Centers be Damned ~

Here’s the thing though...people spend their whole lives investing and not ‘living’ until they’re late 60s and 70s+. You can’t take it with you and you aren’t promised tomorrow. If you have family and want a nest egg for them, fine. But if not, why not just enjoy (within reason) what life has to offer? I’m not saying go in debt. I remember hearing of this story of a millionaire who was so frugal that he lived like a homeless man. He didn’t spend any money and nothing ever changed as he got older. His house looked like a pigsty. He never traveled or anything...nothing that would cost money. How much life did this man lose out on, and for what? To be the richest man in the graveyard? Nah...I say spend within reason on things you’ll enjoy. If material things aren’t your cup of tea then maybe experiences. Travel whenever the world opens back up. But I wouldn’t constantly throw my loose change in some investment that, in itself, may carry some risk.

Yup but mine was red n had sunroof, it was a lot of fun. But after going really fast straight I learned something way more fun
Going fast around turns. S209>track hawk/hellcat or the M4
I literally haven’t driven my m4 in a month lmao. About to go wash it now drop the roof n go workout actually though
If you want a collector car trust me get your hands on an s209 put 5-7k in mods (flex fuel, exhaust Access port) and thank me later.
500 HP all wheel drive 6 speed that literally drives better then most supercars at 250k range
Only cons is cheap radio cause of lightweight but you can always upgrade that.Eating "clean" doesn't mean eating "healthy"
