So many have already been answered, but for me politics/voting.
I just don't get why so many people take it so seriously. Do people actually think politicians care about you?

Some brand name foods. Usually, I just get the generic store brand and it tastes just as good, if not better.
I never understood the appeal to soda pop and energy drinks.

Jewelry of any kind. I'd only wear any kind of jewelry if there was some kind of sentimental value or it was a gift.

Overpriced cars. I love my '18 Camry base model. Perhaps in '25 I'll get a newer one that's essentially a base model with maybe 1 or 2 upgrades, but that's it. Just lol and smh at anyone paying more than $30k USD in today's currency for a vehicle, unless it has some sort of function to enhance your work, income, or life. But even then you'd better have some kind of practical use and run some real numbers to make sure it's worth it.

Boats/Planes/Anything-in-between. Waste of money. No desire to learn to fly a plane or drive a boat. These sorts of things would be occasions / vacations for me.

Watches. I think it's all overpriced show offy BS. Real nice luxury ones are cool but only for the first 5 minutes of seeing it, and maybe it'll compliment your other attire. But piss off. Smart watches are at least functional and useful. But my phone does all I need, so don't need a smart watch. Would maybe want one if I was tracking steps or pulse or something.

All that say, while I don't have those expensive things in my life.... see sig... I have other hobbies/priorities such as a gaming PC setup, a house cat, expensive phone, etc.

It's handy when leaving the house or going to sleep to turn off all the lights at once.

Certain appliances are nice to control on timers or with conditional logic, like your thermostat, air conditioners, espresso machine, etc.

But it's not like if I want to just turn the light on in my hallway that I yell at alexa to get it done. I just flip the switch in that case.

Also, smartbulbs allowing warm and cool white on schedules is actually really nice for winding down at the end of the day or giving more energetic lighting during the morning/afternoon.
