Grew up poor, lived in ghetto hood.
Raised partly on welfare.
Got in with wrong crowd when younger.
Towards end of highschool, started training consistently, got smart.
After highschool took the bus to community college.
Left all my friends, flew solo and trained, hit the books, stayed home and misc'd most weekends.
In community college, burned alot of time switching majors; didnt know my direction
Finally figured it out after years, graduated, then went to university and graduated.
Got real world experience in my area of study.
Always lived far below my means and saved a large percentage of my income.
Never invested heavily, but saved alot
Starting taking classes in grad school, got a new job, probably due to grad school, in a higher paying feild.
I currently make over six figs and am worth well over six figs and i live in a chit hole (ded fkn Srs)
Finally decided to buy a nice home (still below my means, but for sure a decent middle income home; much better than where i stay currently)
Put in an offer tonight, hope they accept, i know there are two other offers in as well.

yep by the time i was ready to put in the offer, seller already accepted another offer so just kept looking. Any decent home in a decent price range in a decent area will usually have a couple offers on it within a few hours of listing. If it doesnt, it probably is over priced or there is something sketch about it.

Beaches are about the only place tolerable during most of spring/summer to me, and that's because there's cold water and a nice breeze most of the time.


Every other aspect of being outside in FL was miserable for me. Guess if ya really like heat it's all good, but heat + humidity is no bueno. You are just "Moist" at all times if you are outside for more than like 10 min most of the year.

I don't know anything about boats or fishing, those always required me to be outside, so I had no interest =p


Lotta fine women in Florida though, especially around beaches. But also a LOT of garbage people cluttering everything up. Few people there are actually from there, you so get people from all over the country in FL, and tons of tourists and people from off the coast etc.

which side did you enjoy more? golf or Atlantic ? Agree will probably be sweaty most days when out side; i will take this advice from you an make sure I have breatheable shoes and clothes for days like this. To be honest, even where i live, we have many 90-100deg days with humidity, and i often have been with people that would complain about the temp etc when I personally wasn't bothered by it.

Maybe that is why you didnt like florida? Fishing is a fun side hobby, especially in a nice location. Could imagine tourist to be annoying. With all the hot chicks is tinder good in florida?

My brother bought a house a few months ago and he put in an offer slightly above asking price and removed a few contingencies. He got the house and found that someone offered even higher than he did but b/c of no contingencies on certain things, the seller went with him. Basically a dream house and everything worked out well, it's definitely a seller's market with these houses selling like hot cakes right now. Also, def do the 20%, paying PMI is like throwing money away.

Florida real estate is on fire. Multiple offers on anything decent within a day or two lots of times. Even things that would have taken 6 months to sell last year are going within a month. The only stuff that seems to be sitting are ones where people are listing for ridiculous money to see if anyone bites, or stuff that's kind of oddball.

As an ex-northerner, the way I look at it is up north you have 4-5 months a year of cold or snow. Here you have 4-5 months of heat and humidity. But I don't have to shovel humidity, the winters are great, and pools exist.

Yeah the weather is either something you like or hate. I'm personally a fan, but after living in Colorado for 3 years (just moved out of Colorado to Tennessee) I can see why people complain about humidity. I personally like humidity, I do appreciate the lack of sweating and such in Colorado, but don't like the way my skin feels or the dryness of the air.

Only thing I really dislike about Florida compared to Colorado is the bugs. Probably saw 1 house fly a year in CO, and don't remember seeing a mosquito unless I was in the mountains.

The dry climate of most of CO, AZ, UT, etc. is awesome for the lack of bugs. I love that climate. But oddly enough MI, OH, PA and even places like AK in the summer are WAAAY worse for mosquitos than I've seen in FL. Couldn't even go out of doors after dusk if you lived near trees up there. Not sure if it's from spraying or what.
