Interesting video. I liked hearing everyone viewpoint. I'll throw mine in.
Reparations should be given to people who were affected by Jim Crow era laws or during the Civil Rights movement. This is basically your parents, and grandparents.
My ancestors did more for this country than yours. Run me my $$ old man

Because the government has put black America at a starting point in life that is further behind than white America because the color of our skin. You think that after 1968 that racism in America was gone? That blacks and whites were suddenly now equal?
Your parents generation were directly affected, thus YOUR generation was directly affected by racism and laws governed by this country

Jaydawg, I will agree with you to a certain extent. Just because the Civil Rights Act was signed in 1968, that didn't mean the playing field was equal. Black people were on first and white people were rounding 3rd. That's why I didn't have a problem with the Black Caucus and Affirmative Action for a transitionary period time. Members of my family did benefit from the legal protections afforded them through legislation when they were passed up for promotions and hiring back i the 70's. However, at this point in time, they government can only do so much and at some point, we have to move on. Nothing is perfect but things are decent enough that black folk can find good employment and live good lives. More government involvement at this pint won't make anything better.
