Idk
I think about it from time to time though. I'm still very into BB'ing and I used to love this section. I got away from it for a while; not even sure why tbh; and when I came back, man, it was really changed; empty.
Before any big show there used to be 2-3 current pages with threads swapping places every minute.
I guess I'm as much to blame as anyone; we all are. Nobody takes the time to post or reply. I think people's time is so limited these days; everyone is busy. I feel like I have less and less time to surf.
Weird; oh well...that's my deep thought for the night2017 OCB Men's Physique Open 4th place

Yeah pretty much this. It’s a weird time Right now to be working out much less spending 30,000+ on food for a year. You’re lucky to be even lifting at a gym these days like it’s a luxury. Instagram n social media have ruined a lot when you can just make your photos look like you’re the next Greg plitt as well. This forum is still original and has roots. It’s made me who I am today and I’ve been quite successful. So can’t complain. Seems like the rest of the new times is an empty shell especially in the new kids growing up

It was a stroke of luck from the heavens, and drinking, that I happened to stumble into this subsection tonight. I wouldn't have otherwise.
Imagine my surprise to see a thread decicated to me, solely based on how much I've been your absolute daddy over the past 15 years. I will always live rent free in your head and I know that.
That aside, the forum died after the name change to "Professional Bodybuilding", and also due to the management at BB.com where many prominent members were banned or moved on. This, together with the rise of social media and the lack of upgrades to the forum software is where BB.com sharply fell off.
I recommend everyone here just go to the misc section, it's the last area where a few members still exist and chat.
Cheers.▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ஜ۩۞۩ஜ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

Social media is partially to do with it. Also the layout of the forum now. It doesn't archive as much . You can't go back to weeks and months of previous posts, etc. There are just a few threads under each section. But also new content isn't going on as much (again, due to social media being where more content is uploaded now)

For me it’s both. Obviously social media makes anything fitness related so readily available. We also live in a society where everyone wants things right now. Nobody wants to take the time to get on forums or discussion boards, let alone research bodybuilding related topics. They can just click on their IG app and search for anything they want (which is ironically BS most of the time). It just depends on when you came up in the sport and where your love for it began. For me, even trying to find something motivating is nothing like it was in the early/mid 2000’s. I remember being in high school/college and drinking my NO Xplode watching Ronnie and Branch YouTube videos. It’s crazy how bodybuilding seems dead but in all actuality, it is reaching further than it ever has before due to social media. Hell even I am only on here now because I tore my pec completely off my sternum recently and have been trying to re-find my love for the sport and the passion I once had for it.

I'm 8 weeks post surgery. I tore mine 2 days before that guy. That guy is a god damn moron. He had a very basic pec tear and had people all over social media donating money to him to "pay for his surgery." He posted last week or something that he re-tore it. That guy is an absolute moron. Anyway, I tore my sternal head off my sternum as well as the clavicular head. I snapped the tendon as well so they had to reattach the heads of the muscle, anchor into the tendon, stretch it back across my sternum, and drill/anchor it into my arm (humerus). Mine was a very rare and severe tear. They had to cut from my collar bone all the way down a few inches into my bicep. Crazy stuff. I was actually doing decline bench press when it happened.

Back in our day we would do in-depth analysis & discussions of competitors & that spawned quality entertaining flame wars too.
Now the majority lack patience & concentration span to do this, view points now have to be short & preferably in the form of a meme, otherwise masses easily get distracted by something else.
No more red-lines
