Trying to bulk but not going well.

So I've been bulking for about a month and a half, but really unsatisfied with the results visually. Started out at 6 foot 152, now 6 foot 158. This seems about right to me since 2-3 lbs of that are probably water, so I'm on track to gain 3-4 lbs a month at a 500 calorie surplus. I'm eating 2300 calories a day. My lifts are all up 10-15 lbs. But I look so much wider and less defined and I'm worried I'm just gaining fat. I wouldn't mind if I started to look chubby after gaining 20 lbs, but I've only gained 5 lbs. I haven't even built any muscle yet and I already feel like cutting. Do I need to slow down? I really think I've been doing everything right. I've been eating relatively clean to maximize protein (150 g a day) , following an U/L split 4 days a week. Even doing some biking, walking to burn some extra cals and make sure my surplus is 500 or below. However I don't see any additional muscle, just fat. It blows my mind because I see people put on 25 lbs in 3 months and they look just as lean, but I feel like I can see every last pound going to my stomach.

I've attached three pictures, one before I started bulking, one current picture in the morning before eating anything, and another current picture after eating. What should I do?

Could use additional info. What routine are you running? What is your diet like as far as macros go?

Any time in the past where I thought I was in a caloric surplus, I took a closer look at my activity levels and realized I wasn't.

However, a 500 surplus gains you about 1 lb/week. So You gaining 6 lbs in 6 weeks leads me to believe you're on track and need to give it more time.
