Watson wants out. He wants to go to a division rival either NY or Miami.
Bills should make the call and try to sell high on what might have been a flash in the pan season for Allen. Keep watson out the division. Give texans another viable Franchise QB in return.
Who says no if the Bills make the call?(assuming watson is onboard when he realizes the bills super bowl window is now?)

No thanks, Allen has the strongest arm and the highest theoretical potential in the league if he gets the mental aspects figured out. Also, he is likely going to be more durable with his enormous frame to take NFL hits over the course of a career. Plus you can't concuss him because he was born with a concussed look on his face
He was a raw prospect and his development over the last two years has been more than you could hope for. Let the trajectory continue. The only QB that you would take would be Mahomes, who will never be traded either

1. Allen is the first legit Buffalo QB in forever. The city loves him. They would go nuts if he was traded. There is a reason franchise QB's are almost never traded when both sides are happy.
2. Allen's 2020 is better than anything Watson has ever done in his career. Allen is arguably the greatest development project ever. Who is to say he doesn't get even better next year?
3. The offense is designed explicitly for Allen. We have seen him be elite in this offense. Watson can probably excel in this offense but there is a lot more risk.
4. Allen's salary in 2021 is like 6m. Watson's total salary is like 15m.
5. This makes your team look real bad to free agents.
If I'm the Bills, I'm hanging up immediately because I don't want it to get out I was considering trading Allen. If I'm the Texans, I'm accepting the trade ASAP because Watson is lost and Allen is the best return you will get.

I agree with you. I'm just saying that this will never happen in real-life. Franchise quarterbacks (when happy) are almost never traded and even for disgruntled qbs it's rare. The risk is far too high. When you compound this with a super crazy fanbase that is absolutely in love with Allen who just tasted playoff success for the first time in their lives it just would never happen. There would probably be riots and unless Watson plays amazing you will absolutely be fired.
For the record, I have Watson ranked slightly above Allen

Getting a better quarterback always make sense. Preventing your division rival from getting a top 5 QB always makes sense.
Allen was great at times this year but he showed some signs that maybe its not really a consistent thing.
Im not saying you should agree to do the deal, but to say its just out of the question is having way too much faith in Allen to keep doing this after 1 year, and not understanding how good watson is.Last edited by BigBallsMcgee; 01-25-2021 at 10:24 AM.

Terrible comparison. Texans have literally nothing around Watson and he was incredible this year. He really stepped it up. He couldnt drag a bottom 3 roster to more wins, true. But go look at those games and tell me watson wasnt unbelievable. Some were calling for him to be named MVP for what he was doing.
But ok, if he goes to the jets and or dolphins, I might be bumping this thread to say told you so

Well the dolphins were 10-6 and shuffling qbs. Nobody has ever said Watson is worse than Tua or Fitzpatrick
And the jets were bad cause gase and darnold are both bottom 5 coach and qb in the league.
Not selling it well when your point is that he’s better than darnold and tua.
QB leaders in nfl Rodgers, Mahomes, Allen....and Watson at 12. Seems about right

I'm not sure anyone can win a superbowl without multiple top 10 corners and wildly athletic quick reacting cover2 linebackers as long as Kelce and Hill are still playing w/ Mahomes under Reid. It's like crossing routes in Madden on rookie level, they aren't going to be stopped. You'd have to outscore them and hope for a few fumbles
The Chiefs have only lost a few games in recent history. I don't really see them losing any time soon other than very rare one off games. Best offense in history in terms of weapons
