That sounds like a gold mine like I have in my town with the refinery. Rent them out furnished, bills paid by the week. Here a motel room with 2 beds is $400 a week. Their primary clientele is the tradies working short term jobs at the refinery. By short term I mean 1 to 6 months. I rent out 3 bedroom houses for $600, they have a kitchen and a washer dryer plus everything else they need to live comfortably (cable, wifi, grill, cleaning supplies etc). Find out how much the motels are and price your rentals accordingly. The tradies get a per diem each week for their food and for the average cost of accommodations in the area. They don't a swimming pool, jacuzzi, a huge HDTV or a view of the mountains. Just a place to go to after work to drink beer, do laundry, cook food, take a shower and sleep.

As much as it pains me to agree with the red shill that is OP about anything they are building a ton in Winnemucca right now (Compared to past years there). But its in the middle of fuking nowhere too, so invest with caution or be ready to make a quick buck and sell.

If you can find a spot, put a few travel trailers (tow behind campers) there and rent them out by the week. When the job is over, remove the trailer. I see used trailers around here for $1000-$2500. You can probably rent it out for $400 a week.
