- opened a conversation on which course of action would be better/least bad which included balancing the economy with public health
- tasked the CDC w/publishing some type of consistent guidelines re: prevention and management (guidelines- not mandates)

Mostly he could have done much better at using his position to communicate a message of cohesion [we are all in this together], support [this is a difficult situation, but we [Federal government] are here to serve the American people], and to share the best available information [what we know, what we don't know, what we are doing].

Props for his support on vaccine development. And the media was crap for dogging the anti-malaria drug as a potential treatment.
