Which leg curl would you get

Plate loaded or selectorized? I looked at plate loaded one Right near my house pre pandemic but passed. The concern with plate loaded is loss of resistance towards the end of the movement.

true- I owned the legend plate loaded version but for that reason, I ended up selling it and picked up a body solid seated leg curl combo. Of course the Legend was built like a tank, no argument there. I know that is probably considered blasphemy on this forum, but with the BS seated machine I can really burn up the hams. For now it works, but may look into a more professional piece in the future.

Are you buying this for a gym you charge people money to go to, OP? If not I would just put a dumbbell between your feet and do leg curls that way.

If one lacks the space and/or means, then you do whatever works. However, if you have the space/means, then it makes sense to seek better options.

I’ve been looking for a leg curl, missed out on some cybex kneeling plate loaded which is what I want. Also thought I could get an Atlantis prone selectorized, best of the best, but the seller was very flaky, never wanted to meet.
There is a Hammer seated not far from me, frame in rough shape. Advantage is easy to transport, easy for me to resell, and I can remake the pad covers.
Big debate regarding seated vs prone/kneeling re which is better. Seated probably takes up less room, may be better for ham development. A seller over an hour from me has these two pieces. Neither are ideal, but which would you choose and why. Thank you.

Neither! Just received the one I really wanted. Listing pics were not great, it needs some work. Have to decide if I will stick with black pads or go blue to match my other equipment. I’m very fortunate.

Seated curl would be my pick, if I ever see the Hoist dual curl/extension machine locally I'd scoop it up in a heartbeat.

It’s ok condition wise, looks like someone left it outside. See the rust on the pipe collars and in various other places. I soaked the collars in vinegar and the knocked the rust off a little while ago. Cleaned the pop pin knobs which were nasty. Worst part was the hand Grips, but those are fine now after some soap and water.
Going to make new pad covers, just deciding on blue to match my other equipment or black.

169 pounds. It’s like 47” x 34” x 43H”. Heavier than it looks.

If they use the same stuff as the Life Fitness branded equipment, it gets ultra-sticky when exposed to hot environments. Goo Gone / Desolvit improves it considerably, but I usually just replace it.

Just removed the handles, Screws holding them were a bit crusty. Washed with soap and water. Good as new. They are just flat rubber, not textured.

The piece I got is a kneeling leg curl. Not extension. The machine in the link you posted is a hoist leg extension/leg curl. Different machines.

I like the old LF Pro/Pro2 lines. My only hesitation would be what appears to be a lack of adjustability. Maybe there are adjustment points I can't see though.

Thank you. The back pad depth might be adjustable. They want 1050 which is too much. I didn’t counter. Also I am still worried about moving a selectorized piece. Would take stack off, possibly could borrow a trailer from someone.

Yeah, that's too much. Selectorized pieces aren't that bad. Just remove the stack and you're usually good to go. The LF Pros are a little more of a PITA (as are some old Hoist pieces) simply because you often have to remove a pulley to access the bolt securing 1 of the 2 guide rods.

Does this hold true with the Hammer Strength plate loaded leg extension and seated leg curl? Never was able to use either piece so just curious.

prone/kneeling, eventually the seated won’t be enough weight. I also find prone/kneeling much harder and kicks my hammies butt
