My son lifts on his own based on a little input from me. For the last year he's been cycling 185x10 one day, then 190x9 ~three days later, working progressively heavier each successive workout but with fewer reps until stopping at 215x5. I suggested that he push the envelope a bit so he did 220x4 on his last cycle but then insisted on going back to 185. I said, when you get to 225, I want to video you. This is the result:
I remember many years ago I could get 225x10 (maybe 12) on the decline, but my incline falls off significantly more than the typical lifter. I think he's stronger on the incline than I've ever been. And his diet sucks. I'm sure he averages less than 100g of protein per day

Thanks guys. And by "flat incline" I meant an incline with very little slope.

Thanks! And I tried, but he has no interest. He's got a naturally good set of wheels/gluts, but I couldn't talk him into it.
When I went down there to video him, he had a 45, 25, 10, and two 5's on each side. I was like "NO WAY!" We're doing this with 2 PPS
Propelled by excitement, when he finished, I said "let's see what your old man can do! Strip off a plate and let me warm up." My son finally cycled around where he had to lift 225 again. I didn’t even consider videoing it thinking he would get six or perhaps seven. He cranked out a set of 10 A one rep calculator puts his max at 300, and if he can get 225x12 that should translate to a max of 315.
