Rivers is not a hall of famer. Always played just well enough to lose. Stats were compiled in garbage time down 17 in the 3rd quarter running no huddle. Never won a thing.
He was a MUCH better player than Eli Manning, but Eli has 2 rings and the Manning mafia and the NY media on his side so he's going to unfortunately get in.
Matthew Stafford is the NFC version with a better arm.

Jay didn't compile enough. one of my favorite players but have to be objective here.
Ryan is a good comparison. another one where he was really never that dominant but he's hung around and put the stats together over a long period of time.
Tony was as skilled as anybody and i wish i could go with this argument for him but it's not happening. if he didn't get hurt in '15 he'd probably either still be playing or wrapping it up shortly. with how good the cowboy line has been the last 5 years one could argue he would've finished VERY strong. his '14 season was tremendous.
Carson was a similar player but again, compiling, Rivers blows him away.
frankly none of these guys should get in, including rivers. with football IMO you have to be absolutely dominant. the baseball HOF rewards compiling more. rivers played in an era with several QBs who you'd take any day over him. they're the HOF'ers and he's not.

You're retarded.
Jaydawg is retarded, but he's right. Rivers isn't HOF worthy.
Your retardation truly is astounding. Brees is one of the best to ever play QB. Rivers clearly isn't, but I know you're too stupid to understand that. You really don't know **** about football.
He probably will make it later on but he shouldn't.The Lord of the Cave Federation

Like it or not (I personally hate it) the Hall of Fame pretty much is the Hall of Very Good. I think the HOF should be reserved for people who did incredible things during their career. Brady has the rings. Brees has a lot of records. Peyton has plenty of records. I wouldn't put Big Ben in, Rivers, Eli.
Maybe I just have a weird criteria. I guess I see the HOF as people who really helped define the sport, or could be considered one of the greatest at their position. Now it just seems like the criteria is 1) have a couple noteworthy accomplishments 2) be very talented.Everything depends upon execution; having just a vision is no solution.

And Brees is an all time great and Rivers isn't. I understand why you refuse to give him credit, with your being a Panther fan and all, but even your certifiably retarded ass should be able to recognize a great when you see one.

Brees is a product of a great system, you just don’t understand football. Before Sean Payton Brees was benched for a 40 year old Flutie, never threw for 4000 yards, never threw more than 27 TD than a season, never completed more 65% of his passes and had one season more than 10 wins.
Meanwhile with the same coach calling plays Rivers was throwing over 4000 yards and 30 TD on a constant basis and had a better record than Brees. Now imagine Rivers with Payton
Like I said get that dick pump ready the cuck porn is firing up you miserable crippled cuck.Everything I do is biblical

Congratulations on not knowing that every player is a product of a system and using hypotheticals without mentioning Brees' shoulder injury before coming to New Orleans.
You one of those idiots that insults people by using terms describing yourself. You call people cucks, while thinking it's actually a good insult, enough that it's obvious it's on your mind constantly.
And what's with you and dick pumps? The Lord of the Cave Federation

What system was Rivers a product of? He produced under three different play callers. Wtf does Brees shoulder injury have to do with anything? He got injured after he was benched and they drafted Rivers. You seriously don’t know chit about football
I call you a cuck cause that’s exactly what you are, and hits a nerve every time

I wouldn't waste your time trying to explain this to people. It is just an excuse they will always hang on to. Offenses revolve around the QB. Every QB is a product of their own system. In fact, every system is literally that QB's system, put in place by the offensive coordinator/head coach. It is not a coordinator/head coach's job to change the QB to fit their system. Some coaches will work with QB's on their delivery, mechanics, etc. But it is the coordinator/coach's job to create a productive, efficient and successful offensive scheme that revolves around the skill sets of the offensive players, starting with the QB. The GM/President/Coach (whoever for that specific team), draft players based off of their skillset and how it can be applied to the offense in place (which again, revolves around the QB). Common sense says this is why teams are always trying to find the next franchise QB. That is where the system starts and that is what you build around. The longer the QB is there, the more you can build around him which creates more stability, predictability, etc. When a team drafts a QB that they plan on starting, that is where the system starts and that is what the coaches build around. It blows my mind some people don't understand this and still call players "system" players. You think the Ravens front office would bring in a coordinator/coach who used an air raid offense in college and let him change the entire Ravens offense to throw the ball 45 times a game and abandon the run while also not having a good WR core? No, they hire someone they trust to take what they have and make it successful. I am a Steelers fan and look what happened this year. They had to create and entire new offense to revolve around Ben not being able to throw anymore. The system started with Ben. All this talk about Brady being a "system" QB well why in the fukk didn't Cam step in and use that same system instead of McDaniels having to create an entire new scheme to fit Cam's skillset? There is no such thing as a system QB and anyone that has played football at a high level (or even high school) knows this.
Also, if anyone uses hypotheticals to say "QB A would do better than QB B if they had QB B's system their whole career" they are literally retarded.
Rant over. I'm sick and going back to bed. You dipchits can debate about this.*Pittsburgh Steelers Crew*

1. Passing yards and TD's compiled in garbage time. Thanks for making my point.
2. 8 Pro Bowls because winning QB's like Peyton, TB12, Big Ben are playing deep in the playoffs while Phillip reached 1 AFC championship game.
I, 100% agree with you. Dan Marino is a top 5 guy in my opinion. I also don't think Eli is a Hall of Famer. But Rivers never made anyone around him better. His best team had LT, Gates, Merriman, Cormartie, they were loaded. And laid an egg at home vs. the Patriots.

Rivers and Brees are not overrated, by any stretch of the imagination.
Most overrated QB I've seen is probably Eli and Flacco, but both won Super Bowls with ridiculous defenses.
RN the most overrated QB is Jimmy G.*Mechanical Engineering Crew*

Agreed. He's kind of gross to watch. I rarely see him step into throws.
Brees isn't overrated, though you could subtract points for throwing on every down like they used to do before Kamara and playing indoors.
Overrated:
Dak All those weapons, I'd hope he would decent
Stafford Surrounded by mediocrity but isn't a gamechanger
Ryan Typical Boston College choke artist
Rivers Always plays just well enough to lose
