Let’s say I have tons of extra cash (talking thousands), how much is the least I could get one for and where?
I’d be down to camp out a bit too for something, no real rush just want to finally get my hands on one.
I know I can’t snag one at retail at 1500$ but what about if I siege one somewhere?
1700$?
1900$
2000$
2100$??
It’s time to get the end boss GPU for me...

What is the lowest price you could realistically get a 3090 for this week?
A lot of girls say I'm built like a "Tank"
BENCH: getting there
DEADLIFT: getting there
SQUAT: bout 350

My advice is to get on StockDrops Discord. Everyone wants the cheaper cards, 3060 Ti, 3070, 3080 / 6800, 6800 XT. When a retailer does a drop they usually bring the entire family, or at least multiple variants from the same family - 3070, 3080, 3090 for example, and it'll actually be the easiest to get a 3090 over say a 3060 Ti. This usually only means a couple extra minutes though of availability. If you're logged in to all the retailers you wanna buy from (Best Buy, Newegg, Amazon) with payment information all setup you'll be faster too, just gotta login once on a given browser and leave the cache uncleared. I think you'll be able to get one close to retail price if you give it an honest try for a week, especially if you wait till February when the stock is supposed to increase across the board.
EDIT: Be open to buying bundle combos... I paid $1600 for my GPU ($1500 MSRP) and a Gigabyte 850W Gold PSU that I don't use and is gathering dust. Also Tariffs might impact pricing now, heard PC components went up like $100 across the board due to Trump's tariffs with China?r9 5900x stock | 1800mhz fclock

yeah but it's Def different tho. Consoles are way more known to the average joe and especially scalpers. People know how fast consoles move, there Def isn't as many people in the market for a 3090 as there is for a ps5. You got parents who don't know **** about games but they know the PS5 is the new hot **** for their kids. Not alot of parents with kids who want or need 3 series gpus. The people paying scalper prices like that are the guys doing benchmark contests and **** cause they love that **** and absolutely want the newest and best.
Also remember that most of us who want a 3 series still have pretty good gaming rigs and don't need to pay the markup we can just be patient. There's also alot of other upgrade options, unlike the consoles. I could buy a 2080ti or 2080 super or whatever else and it would still be an upgrade from my 1080ti. If you want an upgrade from a ps4 you have absolutely no choice but to get a ps5.
Theres Def no doubt that ps5 is light-years more popular to scalp then a gpu.
But factually most aren't selling for those prices. My boy,at work has flipped like 4 Playstation 5s and hasn't sold any for over 1k , and even bought one for 700. Just because people list them for 2k doesn't mean anyone's buying it.Yes... come and let us make an end of it. It matters not, even cornered, to my last breath... I remain who and what I am. I will not hide, nor tremble, nor beg. Let them come and reckon with fury that is DOOM defiant.

Realistically? More than the rest of a high end build.
E.g.: Price Match Guarantee $1,799.99
They're already charging "f*ck you" money for 70 series cards.
You're not wrong.
Performance per dollar goes through the ****ing roof on the 3090 over the 3080. The biggest differentiator is the massive boost in vram, which is so much larger that the target shifts more towards people who dabble in things outside of gaming like machine learning or rendering.
I want to say that KingSWRV had mentioned in the past wanting to do something along those lines as well as gaming, so the 3090 is pretty much the option for a hobbyist or even some professionals who need that extra vram.
Yields are also going to be the worst on the 3090, so there's that going against it as well as being more niche.
But with the way that electronics and parts are being priced at the moment, average people are going to hit their price ceiling quick looking at PC parts, so even an overpriced console would look like a better value proposition if they just want to play games.I will stand firm, I refuse to kneel - The fury in me is divine
My dark grave awaits, my fate is revealed - But I'm not afraid to die

I run my 3090 at near stock settings, largely because it was the non-OC Eagle, which has some strict power limitations anyways, but also because I like it staying as cool as it does. Someone I know spent a little over $900 on a MSI Suprim X 3080. Also they rigged it up with a ~$200ish waterblock, so basically a $1100ish GPU. And they OC'd the hell out of it, to where in benchmarks it slightly exceeds my non-OC'd $1500 3090 by like 1-3%. Obviously at that point the concerns are whether or not the hassle of setting up the waterblock, OCing, and not having the extra 14GB VRAM, are worth it...
