They have been refining and perfecting the same cars forever and it really shows. They are actually a bit too perfect for my liking, I kind of like quirky cars. I am thinking about replacing my RS7 with a Panamera Turbo S though. They are the same car now when it comes to drivetrain (same goes for Continental GT I believe) so I am buying it more for the Porsche tech. The RS6 came along and made things interesting. A few of my buddies bought one so I am waiting to see them in person.

Ashamed to say I completely forgot about the RS7 in my search. I traded my GT-R and M4, and my Velar was finally Lemon'd so I needed a car that was a good combination of all 3 (Roomy, fast, fun to drive, luxurious, sporty). So it was either the M8, AMG GT, Panamera. Similarly optioned AMGs/Pannys were close to 180 which was a bit too rich, and I fell in love with the M8.

There's only a few porsches I consider their flagship vehicles- everything else seems like people didnt do their research. GT3, GT4, 911turbo, 918(obv) , etc.

I understand there are Porsche enthusiasts that say 911 or nothing. But to throw the cayenne into the mix as a real Porsche, i wouldn’t agree. When i get my car serviced, I am miserable when they give me a cayenne loaner.
The boxster has the same length of history with Porsche as the cayenne. Also, as a former owner of a 911, this boxster S provides a more spirited drive than the base 911 I used to own.
And for the Panamera turbo, it fills a need for me. It’s a very fast/well built car that fits a car seat comfortably.Last edited by shortys408; 01-17-2021 at 05:01 PM.

If all you are going to do is cruise around and speed a little more expensive cars are nothing more than expensive potential.
If you are a track guy and/or have some wide open roads to hammer on then its a different story.
It blows my mind when people buy a top tier performance car to go 15 MPH over the limit from time to time.Eat in a deficit to lose weight.

we got a 16 cayenne gts (wife's car). it is a completely different car than a base cayenne (have driven those also) and is a drivers car as much as a 5,000 pound SUV can be.
I sort of want to daily a 911 but worried it would be too small. my buddy who has had a 911 and a panamera says front-seat-wise the 911 feels roomier than his panamera, which I found interesting.Stern Crew
