Why are so many citizens against a thorough election integrity investigation?

This isn't intended to be a Trump / Biden post. In fact, if you're response contains either Trump or Biden, then you're completely missing the point of my question.

I can see why politicians and their media microphones are. But when it comes to the citizens, the only tool that we have (that doesn't include violence) to remove government officials who are detrimental to people of our nation....is the vote. If there's no integrity in the vote, then we have nothing. Furthermore, politicians would have nothing holding them back from doing real damage because there's no danger of losing their position without a legitimate election.

The integrity of the vote is way more important than whether your guy wins or loses. I see dozens of posts mocking a complete investigation into the integrity of the vote. If your reasoning is solely because your guy won, then you're incredibly shortsighted.

The founding fathers of this country understood that there are two competing entities in this society, and those two entities are the political class and the governed citizenry. The vote gave power to the citizenry to keep from being oppressed. The citizenry today willfully throws that power away, as the political class has convinced you that the competing entities are instead the political parties, theirs, who care about you, and the other guys, who don't, when in reality, neither of them do and you've thrown away the tool to change the situation.

It may well be that this election was fair and legitimate. You might say, "The court cases all failed" Okay, but why would a citizen ever denounce doing everything to make sure the election was legitimate..

Frankly, I'm not against a comprehensive bipartisan election integrity investigation aimed at discovering weaknesses in the process in this election, promoting procedures to fix the weakness, and making sure that our elections are as secure and transparent as possible going forward to restore confidence in the election process. If that happens, I'm 100% for it. What was proposed was a CT based sham to overturn a certified election in the 11th hour. That I am not in favor of.
