Month ago people’s PS5s were bricking or just dying for random stuff, has this been fixed? How is rest mode working and external SSDs?

What’s the current state of PS5 bugs, issues, etc?

Sony needs to be a better job on backward compatibility.
Microsoft has done a way better job at allowing previous games to get a boost in performance while Sony is being sony and not allowing a simple game like Rocket League to achieve 120 fps.. .. warzone is 60fps, xbox its 120fps.. Hell even God of war won't run past 30 fps on the ps5.. and its not because the ps5 isn't capable.. its sony gimping it.*** Free Thinker Crew ***

I never really kept track of my PS5 crashes, but I'd guess 6-12, 1-2 that shut down the system while the rest the typical app close that you'd see on PS4 occasionally. However, after that troubling start I haven't had a single issue since the last firmware update in December making the PS5 now less prone to crashes than my PS4 was.
I game a ton, especially this winter, and leave my system constantly running so therefore "abuse" my consoles more than most but I've never had an external drive on it.
It's not Sony purposely gimping it, it's that MS has made a BC system that is much more dev friendly when you speak of the multiplat examples like Warzone and Rocket League. Devs have spoke to this. Sony's own titles that haven't gotten a boost yet are definitely gimped and the common assumption is those titles will probably see Remasters or Remakes while the other Sony titles that got PS5 upgrade patches will not.

lets me honest, it probably takes no work to change the fps cap from 30 to 60.. and push it out as an optional patch on ps5 for anyone who owns the game. at bare minimum all sony's 1st party titles should have better backward compatibility. Open it up to the devs, you can't say sony doesn't have a choice when their own 1st party games run like its being played on a base ps4 on the new ps5 and microsoft over there is getting all the third party games upscaled, better textures, and higher frame rates and auto HDR using their own filters/software.
