    Pullups and ceiling too low

I've got a half rack, but can't do a full rom pull up due to my ceiling being too low.

Has anybody tried to do pullups using a barbell (maybe loaded) as a bar?

It certainly could work but obviously they would have to be bent knee pull ups.

If you must do it on a barbell, face the opposite way of the guy in the pic if there's room and use good form without momentum so you don't have to load the bar (which is an accident waiting to happen).

Actually I do that on a normal rack, barbell rests on J-jooks

If your rack is tall enough, it works. I've done them with a barbell in the rack before. Face the rack so you're not rocking the barbell towards the hooks as stated above.

If it's not tall enough, go outside and find a tree or a playground.

It's definetly high enough as long as I keep my knees bent

Knees bent should work fine. My rack does not go high enough for pullups. I bought a nice door one but doesn't work on any of my doors, house is over 100yrs. old and has thick walls and large trim.

I put rings on the kids swingset, so that'll have to work for now. Rocky style out in the cold.
