Tesla is just getting started, as is Space X and his other ventures. They are still in their infancy as a tech company. Elon has way more vertical growth potential than say, Bezos. Hell, it's been over 20 years and Amazon is profitable in the cloud and they are just now starting to make money from ads. It's not as valuable as a company as everyone thinks it is. EV's are still just a fraction of the market. Imagine how much Tesla will be worth when EV's are 20% of the market. There are no other companies more exciting to watch than the ones being run by Musk. Imagine the kind of subsidies he's going to get from here on out to do the things that he wants to do. A lot of people missed to boat to buy in at Amazon for a decent price, and as you can see, Amazon's stock has kind of flattened out. I'm not sure how much higher it will really go. Apple may have a gigantic cash hoard but they are so reliant on the IPhone and Ipad and they keep losing market share to China every year with regard to smart phones. Now Apple is going to make an EV??? That is their play? I don't see it usurping Tesla and it could very well end up a disaster for them. The point is, none of these other monoliths have as much upside as Tesla and Musk's other bag of tricks. Imagine if Musk can figure out a way to scale Boring company with gov't subsidies and maybe even Chinese investment. How does Amazon or Apple contend with that? You see what happened when they tried to get into healthcare with their Haven venture. Nobody can compete with Elon Musk.

We need department stores/ecommerce more than rockets and EV cars.
Car companies can switch to making EV cars to compete with tesla but the same can't be said for Amazon as it's becoming the only option to shop nowadays. As for rockets - earth will be completely fine without spaceflight for years to come.

They will still make money and grow, but, I think they are more easily able to be disrupted--especially by Chinese companies. Maybe I'm wrong but I just think Elon's companies have so much more potential than a company that is so reliant on a singular product like the IPhone.
