Kyle Rittenhouse -- the teenager charged with homicide in the Kenosha, WI killings -- seems to be flaunting the fact he's no longer in jail as he awaits trial ... based on his t-shirt anyway.

Rittenhouse -- who just turned 18 -- hit up a bar in Mt. Pleasant, WI earlier this week with his parents and enjoyed a beer ... according to our sources. As you can see ... he was sporting a shirt with the phrase, "Free as F***."

If you're wondering how he was allowed to drink alcohol, you're not alone ... but it's actually allowed per Wisconsin law if a person under 21 is with a parent, guardian or spouse of legal drinking age.

Nonetheless, it seems someone was concerned about Rittenhouse's presence in the bar, because the Mount Pleasant PD tells us they got a call about him being there. We're told the caller believed it may have been a violation of his bond agreement.

Cops say they looked into it and learned Rittenhouse was at Pudgy's Pub on Tuesday afternoon with a parent, and relayed the info to the Kenosha County DA's Office. We're told an investigation determined he had not violated his agreement.

I have so little faith in what media present, it's really hard to feel like I've got 'the truth' - but I did watch a non-mainstream documentary that had a bunch of cell phone footage of that night that portrayed a lot of what he did as self defense.
Was he stupid just being there? Probably. Stupid to be carrying in that situation/way? Probably.
Do girls walking in dark alleys wearing provocative attire deserve to be raped? Rhetorical question.

He's not a guy that shows great judgment. But, if you were in his shoes and possibly facing life in prison, you might make such immature decisions too... live a little and drink (technically legal) especially because you may never get to do that 21 run.

Prosecutors are seeking to change the terms of Kenosha double-murder suspect Kyle Rittenhouse's bond arrangement after he was serenaded with a Proud Boys anthem and flashed white power hand symbols while posing for photos at a Wisconsin bar.

Rittenhouse was seen drinking at Pudgy's Pub in Mount Pleasant with his mother and several other people on January 5, soon after he pleaded not guilty to killing two people and injuring a third during shootings at a Black Lives Matter protest last August.

According to an affidavit filed by Kenosha County Assistant District Attorney Thomas C. Binge, Rittenhouse stayed at the pub for around 90 minutes wearing a T-shirt reading "free as f**k."

Immediately upon arriving at the bar, Rittenhouse posed for pictures while flashing the OK hand gesture—a previously innocuous symbol that has been co-opted by some on the far-right as a coded message to show support for white supremacy.


Rittenhouse was also serenaded by five members of his group at the bar singing "Proud of Your Boy," an obscure song written but rejected for the 1992 Disney film Aladdin. The court documents state that the far-right group Proud Boys was named after this song and it is sung by its members "as an anthem and for self-identification."

Rittenhouse drank three beers during the 90 minutes he was at Pudgy's Pub and "remained with these 'Proud Boys' for the entire time," the affidavit states.

I didn't know of it and did a little research, some say the OK sign was adopted as a symbol of hate and associated with white supremacists as early as 2017 and some say 2019.

In any case it doesn't look good for someone who faces charges of first-degree intentional homicide, one count of first-degree reckless homicide, one count of attempted first-degree intentional homicide and two counts of first-degree reckless endangerment where the victims were not white.

A thing becomes a symbol for a thing when enough people use it for that purpose, regardless of prior associations or origin. The swastika, for instance, is a good example of white supremacists co-opting previously benign symbology.

You can certainly say the OK gesture isn't used exclusively by white supremacists. This is factual, and should make any one hesitate before blindly accusing others of racism without context. Afterall, it is still a totally innocuous hand sign for many, many people.

Arguing, however, that the OK gesture has not also come to be strongly associated with white supremacy in recent years and that it has not been used abundantly in that context is counter-factual, and gives one the appearance of both gas lighting & arguing in bad faith.

It's a far-right group that includes racists. Just because they have a high level member who is non-white doesn't change the makeup of the organization.

Furthermore, the proud boys more advocate for western (white) civilization and the idea of a Christian United States leading the world. They're more chauvinist and anti-islam than they are simply racist.

Think of it as a “gang sign”, Corbi. Now from what I understand, the inverted sign has been appropriated by nationalists as a a way of IDing themselves to each other and has been mentioned elsewhere, seems to have been in the last few years.
