EPIC bump and rockin' content, Dudes! So much workbench pron. My tape measure can only get so hard.

Such awesome stuff. Please keep sharin' cuz I be digging. My woodworking journey is briefly delayed with a recent eye fukkery. Intent on getting back to the workshop by winter.

and yeah, sawdust. Total PITA. How hard would it be to create dustless wood? Seriously!

This is not anything too amazing, but it helped me learn how to build drawers and do joints .
I also have a General cabinet saw , so having that and a dado blade helps immensely.
Imo , the main tools you require are a decent table saw , a miter saw , and a router .
Then gradually add from there .

I’ve always wanted a way to store my drills, bits etc . I’ve seen other ideas but like mine the best .
I made one copy of a divider by clamping a piece of mdf as a guide to it, then made copies of the copy with router again .

My first attempt at a design used a top and bottom with multiple dado cuts in them . Of course my needs changed and I wanted to set the distances of the dividers differently , so I came up with this idea .
Just lock the partitions in place with a piece of mdf in between each one . This way if you ever decide to change the design, you can pry out the air nailer sections that are keeping the dividers apart , and install new ones of different sizes .

Asteroid can’t get here soon enough crew

    Super straight crew

Sloots are never yours,it’s just your turn

Turn them upside down and there all sisters

Brand new vid that seems relevant here. Got a bit lazy over here but started on a new table at least and waiting for some items/boxes etc to clear up some space over here in my tiny space so can move around better. If everything isn't neatly organized etc I found out about myself I lose a bit of drive and motivation. Guess it's quite something to it in several ways when Peterson said to clean our rooms first.

Not too bad but it's a bit intimidating seeing all content creators making such great work. Wish we could also see all the ****ty woodworkers making stuff that that barely lasts a day and cause all kinds of trouble.

Imagine if these great thinkers of old had access to what we have today...quite possibly they would not share any ideas but rather spend their days wanking off like the rest of us. Just a random thought.

Years ago, when I was still a mere slip of a youth, I was sitting on a train reading "Memories, Dreams, Reflections" (Jung's Autobiography, English translation) and I was quietly chuckling as he was describing some amusing anecdote from early childhood. A stranger came over from nearby seats to ask me just what I found so funny about Jung, why I didn't like him, how could I disrespect a great author and how he worked as a senior lecturer in psychology at such-and-such university and he started to tell me off about my bad attitude. I told him that Jung had a very dry sense of humour and either he'd never read the book himself or he had no sense of humour, but definitely he should learn what he was talking about before going up to disturb strangers on trains. The guy was completely stopped in his tracks. It was a good learning experience for me at a young age that even prestigious universities can occasionally employ fkn idiots, although I sure, very clever idiots.

wood will warp, shrink, and then swell, and crack. And then it will rot. Inevitably! Biological degradation of wood cannot be stopped. I am done with wood. My next gun stock will be made out of marble.

haha! Awesome story and insight gained from the encounter. Appears like that lecturer dude had a ways to go in his individuation process.

In my case being a clever idiot has typically been less rewarding than being a useful idiot.

I made a floating dock this summer, 36 feet long out to a 8 foot by 10 foot swim platform. Prices were so crazy for lumber that I used untreated 2x4's and 3/8 inch plywood for most of it. I only used pressure treated for my swim platform. I painted and/or water sealed everything.

We had a once in 50 year year storm and my dock decided to travel across the lake after the lake rose 3 feet. It's home now, some warping but still strong and doing its job.

Thread makes me think about DBX, guy was a total douche IMO but his woodworking was top tier.
