Why are bathrooms closed due to covid? I am in a bulk cycle right now, and went on a long roadtrip for Christmas. It was a real pain having bathrooms closed at alot of the restaurants and starbucks etc along the way. Is there a logical reason for this? I mean, its fine for me to go into a crowded walmart with carts full of toddlers breathing in the air of hundreds of “people of walmart”, but if I go into a bathroom by myself at a starbucks I am somehow going to catch it easier?

Yeah it sucks, I cut a glory hole in my home bathroom but it's just not the same, standing here with my dick in a hole for hours and nothing.
Short cuts to success are often paved with lies.

Before ANY lockdowns started at the beginning of everything last year, I brought my personal coffee thermos into starbucks and they refused to fill it.
I asked why, and they said ‘because of Covid’
And I asked them, “yours or mine?”
So confusing..."When I die, I hope it's early in the morning so I don't have to go to work that day for no reason"

The funny thing is at produce sections at walmart or other grocery stores, you see people pull their mask down to lick their fingers in order to open the produce bags, then proceed to pick up and look at each apple etc and put back any that aren’t to their liking, then repeat with the next fruit/vegetable. Saw a guy literally touch every apple in the stack to find a few unbruised ones.
But me opening the door with my foot, doing the half-squat n’ splash technique with a handsfree toilet, then opening the door holding a paper towel is far more dangerous somehow.2 time survivor of The Great Misc Outages of 2022

I think It's related to the suspicion that COVID might be in aerozol form in the air inside bathrooms. Flushing might contribute to this, no kidding.
But don't try to find much reason in the COVID restrictions, most of them are political theater and don't actually do much. And I say this as scientist and not some crackpot that believes the virus is due to 5g radiation or a hoaxLast edited by astrocoyote; 01-05-2021 at 06:33 AM.

lockdown skeptics unite
then again, i live in scandinavia and we haven't had any lockdowns and my life is the same except for remote learning. other countries though... man, it's really sad how so many people's quality of life goes down the drain just to avoid a small amount of casualties (in relation to the survivors and ruined lives)
would be interesting to see some kind of #MakeLifeGreatAgain protests when people get tired of this stuff. also interesting to see a thread like this in the nutrition section lolLast edited by faithbrah; 01-05-2021 at 12:51 AM.

I shall give you my 1p worth as an Operations Manager at local town council in which I am responsible for the local public conveniences the simple reason why our facilities were closed is not really much to do with COVID but to do with the general stigma of toilet facilities aka being full of piss and shi*.
I have read a ton of scientific papers on possible aerosol spray causing COVID particles from flushing the toilet and hand dryers but then they recommend leaving all the windows open for ventilation to blow COVID away lol The surfaces one is equalling useless as well if you aren't going to wash your hands after going to the toilet which 100's of others have pissed in and waste by produces are possibly on your hands then the least of your worries will be COVID (not to mention who actually puts there hands down the toilet anyway).
The simple reason is toilets are regard as dirty places therefore they should be cleaned more often to combat COVID according to government guidelines in the UK. It doesn't matter that its likely that toilet has been cleaned more often then your own phone and more people are probably touching your fresh food you buy then the actual toilet rim. That requires more staff and hours to undertake more cleaning schedule. A lot of places have agency staff who do the cleaning therefore that would require paying more for the company to return and clean.
So it is cheaper and easier to just not open them. Not to mention issues of trying to stop people utilising facilities when they technically are advised to be in and out as quick as possible.
This is the logic of the world now with COVID, there is simply none.
All I hope is this world stops spinning soon as I wish to get off.........

Yeah man, lucky you! At least the US state I'm in is not in full prison mode, so it's kinda manageable. Good for you guys to stand up to reason and (real) science.
Lockdowns are like a dirty bulk: society wanted to add muscle and we put it on a 1200 daily surplus. Anytime someone tries to point out the negative implications of this approach they get shut down, and people scream that "you need to eat a lot to get big". I think that future textbooks will refer to it as an example of what Not to do.
Anyway, interesting that this came up on a nutrition forum, and I don't wanna derail the thread. I found this BB analogy funny and relevant :P

Businesses are using the virus as a universal excuse to shutter (temporarily?) services that cost them money. Typically restaurants are required by law to provide a restroom, so I imagine that the health departments are giving them a reprieve from that until this is over (if ever?).
There's a butcher shop in a town I frequent for work that lets you pick out piece your piece of meat and they will grill it for you. It was a steal, especially in the tourist town that it's in. Last time I was there I asked, "Why are you no longer doing this?" Kid behind the counter: "Because of Covid". What? Meanwhile they are still serving food. I asked a different person again a day later, and they said it was because people kept sending steaks back that weren't cooked to their liking, which makes sense.
The worst is my trash company, who does extra pickups every fall and spring where you can put out old furniture, grills, extra trash bags, and misc items that are too big for the bins. Last year they canceled both of them because of the Corona Virus. Huh?

Lockdowns are a lot like bodybuilding. Because now that we have the most lockdowns and restrictions we are seeing new record surge cases almost daily. But people will still say”just imagine how bad it would be if we didn’t have lockdowns”. It also reminds me of the whole gotta eat 6 meals a day and don’t eat after 6PM stuff to lose weight. You can eat 2 meals a day , both after 6PM and lose weight. That same guy will say “ just imagine how much weight you would have lost if you followed the rules”

Yeah man, totally. That's another great analogy!
Or some people respond by saying "we are not locking down hard enough", reminding me of those fake natties who claim you don't look like them because you did not buy their program :P
Btw I forgot to say I had a similar problem as you, when I could find anywhere to pee, and had to get back home...Luckily my county recently added public chemical toilets; not that I'm excited to use them, but nevertheless that's progress, hopefully other places follow.Last edited by astrocoyote; 01-06-2021 at 06:30 AM.
