I don't know if you are correct or not, but I do think that embracing the working class is probably the one path forward for the Republican party. So far it has been mostly lip service vs. actual legislation.

The Democratic party was originally positioned as the working class party, but the working class don't make fat enough campaign contributions so the DNC dropped that and went to happy talk for the poor, action for the wealthy and big businesses.

I know the majority of R&P are dead set against it, but I truly believe that nationalized healthcare would be very positive for working class people and for small businesses.

How many people get trapped at a job because they can't risk being without health insurance? How many small businesses are strangled by the cost of health insurance?

I'm not saying that I support a system where there is no private care/choice. I'm just saying that for profit "health insurance" is a malinvestment for us as a society.

We don't have an actual healthcare market; instead we have this weird monopolistic cartel where the person who is actually receiving care/making a purchase has very little choice of provider and almost no pricing transparency.
