These business would just pocket the money and wouldn't even have to use any inventory if you gave it to them directly.
Smh i have refuted every single argument you're making

    1. Giving money to the businesses who need it makes more sense because individuals may just save it or spend it at chains.

    2. An economy that just had a solid holiday shopping season does not need a stimulus.

    3. You can easily help those in need through unemployment and other programs without passing out checks to tons of people who don't need it.

    4. Saving are supposed to be used that way......in emergencies. If we gave people money for having to use their savings, there's no point in saving.

The left does not accept these obvious truths because they are determined to normalize giving people money for no reason to fit their agenda

oh yes good old trickle down reagnomics BS!

give money to companies so they can get the money and buy their own stock so that they can give their board bonuses. All while cutting costs, firing employees and moving their production to overseas.

multiple 50 year studies showed trickle down economics is a big con game.

Huge portion of the PPP loans went to mega churches and multi milliion $ companies. And they still ended up firing employees.

Over 150K + small business went out of business this year. They're not coming back. They didnt qualify for the loans or the money ran out. Big chuches and multi million $ companies ate it all.

Its was big news 2 days ago how ted cruz helped give a fracking company in TX $35M PPP money. And they used it to buy other stressed competitors. They didnt need the money. They used tax payers money to create a monopoly.

2.3 TRILLION bill passed. They sent out $1200 checks and UI etc all put together doesn't even end up 1 trillion $

Where did the rest of the money go ? yeah businesses.

Airlines got 50B aid and still laid off over 50K people and gave early retirement to just as many.

No more trickle down BS! You want to help ppl .. give them direct CASH! in hand.

Airlines aren't small businesses. I'm arguing for small businesses, all the other bs you're bringing up is irrelevant to what I'm talking about.

Are you saying small businesses already have enough money?

I really don’t see why this is such a difficult thing for people to realize. We -need- people, everyday normal people, feeling like they can buy that Xbox or nice kitchen knife or leaf blower or whatever. One of the results of covid is an economic emergency for many that was through no fault of their own. [1] not their fault, and [2] we all need people feeling they can spend discretionary to some extent = give money directly to citizens.

Also I told you most of the small businesses couldn't even get the aid they needed. It went to big businesses.

This is why UBI is so attractive. We could give money to businesses with heavy conditions such as keeping their employees on payroll until they have no money left, paying rent, utilities, etc., but that would be an administrative nightmare - and let’s face it - nobody expects we would actually do that.

ITs not efficient, no oversight. Not targeted.

Give the money to ppl, PPL will go and spend it and stimulate the businesses. .
So then just don't give them money either I guess.

Giving money to individuals doesn't fix that either because you have no idea where or even if they will spend the cash.

You can’t really be asking that, can you? But what’s your point here, apparently people are spending so much, obviously no stimulus is needed right?

At least not one going to as many people as this one is. Give to the unemployed and others in serious need

I suspect there are a large number of people who “shouldn’t” have spent the way they did who will get a check.

However, this is a reason I’m personally for UBI. I didn’t get anything either time, why? Because my wife makes like 150k. I’ve been unemployed since March (my own small business is shut down atm) but nope, I don’t get jack.

There are two trains of thought in this thread. There's the:

"if the liberals are upset then they must be doing something right" trolls

Then there are the people that are so disconnected from the lower and middle class of society that they think its normal to have "savings" or a stock portfolio as an emergency fund. We're close to 50% of all 40 year olds in this country who have not even started, or have never had the means to start saving for retirement. Do you think theyre going to have money saved for 10 months into a pandemic after they've lost their (more often than not) minimum wage job?....and again im sounding like a broken record itt, but even before the pandemic, 50% of americans have bee unable to afford an unexpected $500 expense.

Ive worked in Healthcare (emergency rooms/urgent care/trauma centers) up and down California and New Mexico for about 12 years, and the clientele i see are incredibly impoverished.....and no, these aren't the people Cucker Tarlson would say own iphones and escalades while on EBT, these are the people that are completly under the radar and hardly anyone knows they exist. These are the people that rely on food banks for their next meal and don't even know where they will lay down to sleep from night to night....and they're not druggies either they're vets with mental illnesses individuals with debilitating injuries and people who have simply had the worst of luck and fallen through the cracks.

And furthermore, the whole crux of the justified outrage at the necrotizing turtle is that there's very little deliberation when it comes to giving money to corporations or foreign countries, but when its direct cash to the American people then its like pulling teeth from a gnats mouth to even get $600....after 10 months.

Money is still being wasted but everyone wants to "draw the line" and suddenly become deeply concerned about inflation and the deficit when it comes to direct cash for americans. That is what people are sick and tired of hearing.

And finally, this isn't about me. I only got about $100 of the $1200 stimulus back in April, so im doing fine.
