I'm on the high functioning side of the autism spectrum. Can do complex maths mentally, struggle with social situations and cannot read emotion very well unless I can see their face.

Does it stop me? Nah. It's been really useful for my career (the maths stuff has looked really impressive in interviews, as has my ability to spot patterns).

Does giving it a name mean anything? No. I don't need some big coming out party to tell the world I'm an autist. Let's be honest, they mostly know I'm on the spectrum anyway.
