I'm confused on how they scored it 30-27. I had it 29-29 draw, but could've seen either guy winning the 3rd with the grappling. But Matt dominated the entire 1st round.
It looks like most people had it 1-1 going into the 3rd.

Either way, YES! Nick would've been an awesome callout. I'd love to see a Wonderboy fight too.

Poor Calvin. I'm a big fan, but the way Max dismantled him worse than he did to Ortega! Calvin landed 9 clean elbows against the cage in round 4 and they had ZERO effect.


I need to rewatch to make sure, but Max threw a 14 strike combo in either round 2 or 3.

Agree, Herb is the worst. Too many fights where it's stopped too early or too late.
I get it that it happens to any ref but Herb must have the worst history of inconsistency.

Max looked real good in the first 2 rds of the 2nd Volk fight. Need to re-watch and see what Volk did differently in the last 3.

You can't backup vs Max. Leg kicks and hold your ground and counter when he throws.

I know Volk doesn't care for a 3rd fight but this may be one scenario where giving Max a 3rd fight relatively soon makes sense.

Seems like featherweight got weaker with Aldo and Edgar out of the mix there. Yair and Zabit haven't fought in over a year and are among the top of the rankings. I think they just need to pit Yair vs Zabit and the winner for the title shot, before or after Max gets a shot.

Actually forgot about Ortega, he looked pretty phucking good against Korean Zombie

I think he fights Volk in March tho, if Ortega looks anything like he did vs KZ I think he has a good chance

then would like to see an ascended Ortega vs an ascended Max Holloway, but I don't see Ortega beating him tho
