when I first saw this thread they were sold out at Costco.
Now back in stock for $1299, decided to pull the trigger.
I have a pulldown attachment on my titan rack, but it doesn't feel as good as weight stack cable machines I'm used to from commercial gyms. Hoping this has a more similar feel to those.Awesome pics. that's good to hear. Hard to pin down why, but the weight loaded cable pull attachment on my titan rack just feels a bit off. I don't mind it for pull down movements, but keep it pretty limited to that for the most part
stoked to have the ability to do cable crossovers again
also I workout before work, so I'm very time crunched. Just not having to physically switch plates out and saving a few extra minutes seems really worth it to me lolAwesome pics. Great size. I own the titan plate loaded cable attachment as well, and the FTX. The titan unit does feel heavier with the same weight, even though it's still smooth. I still prefer the titan for pull downs and rows, and it's superior when doing heavy cable work. The FTX is much better for high rep stuff, and much more versatile.

Considering a functional trainer to add to the garage setup. Feedback on this machine has been really solid. For those of you using the machine, would you have any concerns with the cable travel length if you were really tall? I'm 6'5 and want to make sure it will still be a suitable setup for me.
Thanks!

I'm barely 6' and I sit on the ground to do pulldowns. The bench that comes with it is much shorter/low to the ground than normal (actually a decent useful bench when combined with the machine). I don't see any way you'd get full ROM on pulldowns without sitting on the floor. Even with pushdowns you may end up on your knees, the same with cable crossovers.

I'm 6'2", and the unit is great. I do kneel when I do triceps extensions, using a Prime Fitness spreader bar. It's long. I have a separate lat tower, but I occassionally use a bench to do single arm chest supported pull downs. I sold the bench it comes with, as I have a Rep AB-5000.

couple months of having it -
really glad I got it. Fits perfectly for my space since it's pretty compact, and it works smoothly overall.

I bought the 5lb add-on weights from Inspire's website. I had to wait several months for them to finally get back in stock. Not really worth the price since hanging a 5lb oly plate over the pin does the same thing. But at this stage in my life I like having things match."It is my own fault for replying in a smith thread." deadwoodgregg

No idea why someone would say that. I'm 6'3". No issue. I don't do pullups on the pullup bar as I have a larger rack but probably works fine if I bent my knees a bit more.
I will say that you need to keep the bench. It's low and makes movements easier so maybe that's where it's coming from. It also has a narrow base and allows you to get it further back in proper position as my Rogue Adjustable is too wide/big to work in all positions for all exercises. This doesn't mean it sucks for tall lifters but that the bench it comes with is integral for anyone not 5' and to use all movements properly positioned (ie seated military the Rogue is too far out). Best guess on someone saying that had issues. I now have 3 benches (flat, adjustable, and Inspire bench) in a small gym and was hoping not to get rid of the Inpsire but whatever. Works fine.▪█─────█▪ Rogue Barbell Crew #27 ▪█─────█▪

I agree the bench is integral for the unit. Everything is well designed for how compact the unit is, even the included rope handle. It's a couple inches shorter on each side than my other rope handles but works perfectly with the unit and helps maximize ROM. For the money this piece just can't be beat, especially if you have a low ceiling or limited space.

Lifted earlier. Pull up bar height is a non issue for me. No idea why someone would say it doesn't work for taller folks unless they are 7' plus which I can't really relate to though my 6'9" buddy should be over in a couple weeks so I may have him mess with it.

I think that's the only FB group I've ever quit. Super negative and unknowledgeable. Ripped on people with legit cool gyms and equipment. Seemed the average commenter was: 5'10" 135lbs 19 years old, eats brown rice and boiled chicken at 1100 cals a day and wonders why he's a "hard gainer", Coop is their gospel on all things lifting (nothing against the guy but he'd be the first to admit he's not a super knowledgeable athlete/coach/or at all in many areas), ridicules anyone who doesn't buy the cheapest lowest quality option because that's all his dad will buy for him. Generalization but such a negative group. Need that like a hole in my head. Never commented or posted, just quit after a couple months of continued negativity and garbage. In fairness there are a few gym related groups that are decent that I still follow.
Case in point - the criticism against >/= 6'0" being useless is actually common and very valid on "pro-sumer" level LAT PULLDOWNS and or Pulldown/row combos. It's why I and other tall guys happen to basically require larger commercial grade units. It is absolutely not valid on the FTS or in functional trainer space at all (just look at the FTS or functional trainers in general and how height could be a constraint - this is why we were all puzzled). Probably came from kids running their yap on stuff they don't have any experience with and don't know enough to see the difference between a lat pulldown and a functional trainer. They just repeat what someone else said and manage to get it dead wrong too.▪█─────█▪ Rogue Barbell Crew #27 ▪█─────█▪

I personally never had an issue with the group in terms of negativity but I'm sure others have maybe experienced that. I've had great help in terms of outfitting my gym whenever I had questions about equipment and overall it's been helpful.
Too bad Costco doesn't have like a set up where they have this in place to test out you know?My training log: https://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=178464441

I'm right around 6'
The only stuff I don't use this for is two-handed vertical pulling movements, and cable rope tricep pressdowns. For those I use my titan rack lat tower attachment. For 2 handed vert pulling movements you'd have to sit on the ground, which I personally don't like. Seen other people on IG do it though.
For the rope tri pressdowns, at the top of the movement the weight fully deloads because there's no more room to go up at the top (hope that makes sense). You can step back further and do it at more of an angle, but that also just doesn't feel natural for me.
I have been doing seated 1-handed vertical pulls with success though. This is one I'm currently enjoying which works fine on it:
https://www.instagram.com/p/CX19ZioA8rc/
other movement's I like using it for:
any kind of bicep work
1-handed tricep work (it's just the rope attachment where you "run out of space" so to speak")
delt work
horizontal pull movements - I just sit on a bench and do these (seen other people do these on the ground). Only thing for seated cable rows to note is that there's no platform type thing to put your feet on to push against. Personally, I just have my feet planted on the ground and engage my abs more to stabilize, which is fine for the weight I'm using, but wouldn't work if you're maxing out the stack probably.
I'm sure there's some way you could put a box down or something to put your feet against, but the angling of the machine where the box would sit would make it challenging.
Hope this helps.Awesome pics. Great size. Look thick. Solid. Tight. Keep us all posted on your continued progress with any new progress pics or vid clips. Show us what you got man. Wanna see how freakin' huge, solid, thick and tight you can get. Thanks for the motivation.
