I constantly see people in my gym doing both of this lifts. Is there any difference in terms of muscle activation?

No difference regarding posterior chain activation. One difference is the stimulus to fatigue ratio - goodmornings provide the same stimulus with a lower weight, making them easier to program if you’re trying to manage fatigue.
RDLs have better carryover to your floor pulls because you work with a heavier load and have it in your hands. So with RDLs you get additional grip and trap work.
RDLs are generally easier to perform for most people than GMs, but otherwise they are very interchangeable.Last edited by leidenesLK; 12-23-2020 at 06:39 PM.

Providing you perform them the same (same knee angle ect like) they will be basically the same thing with 2 small differences.
1) gm will require less weight due to where the weight is loaded.
2) gm will challenge your tspine Errectors harder and rdl will challenge your mid traps harder due to to way your arms pull on your scaps.
Use both?
Either seperate days or rotate them in/out when you stall one or each block.
Currently on my lower days
L1) Squat - good morning - hack squat - ham curl
L2) dead - Zercher Squat - rdl - leg raise
I go gm after squat as the bar is set in J hooks Already 😂FMH crew - Couch.
'pick a program from the stickies' = biggest cop out post.
