Amazes me. If this was any leftists Dem saying what Trump did yesterday about the stim bill while saying Americans need MORE money? And today saying that the defense bill was a bloated pig?
Leftists would be singing his praises from here to eternity.
Which proves the point I have made all along. These people don't care about America. They care about getting their own way on their own terms. No matter who it fawks over.
Period.

You do understand that no matter what Trump did, the left and the media was going to spin the opposite against him right?
If Trump said we need to lockdown NOW (like he did) the left would have said he is a racist, scaring people, and killing American business. And they did say that.
If Trump had said everything is fine, status quo, keeps things open? They would have said he was killing Grandma.
Just admit it. Trump was put into a no win situation and was dead according to the MSM and the left no matter what happened. This was a plan probably 2-3 years in the making, and they executed it.
They won this battle. Let us see who wins the war.Last edited by OptimistPrime11; 12-23-2020 at 02:46 PM.

I literally have no idea what your point is.
People care about power. Ok.
Romanticism like it is 1776. Ok.
How do those two things correlate?
If you mean that traditional white American people in power no longer are? At least to the extent that they were for the past 200 years? I would agree. I would say that that is not a good thing for the long term stability of the country, as we are currently seeing, but I would agree.
But I fail to see what any of that has to do with my statement that you responded to.
The facts are Trump just did 2 things in 2 days that if Obama or Biden did? They would be promoted as gods.
You lefties can't even say 'good job' Trump. And why? Because you hate Trump, hate conservatives, hate traditional American values and culture, much more than you love this country.

They were in the other thread praising AOC for speaking against the bill, but still voting for it. While simultaneously badmouthing Trump for speaking against the bill, and actually vetoing it.
There is a certain sizable part of the US population would genuinely love nothing more than to see the US burn if it meant their team was king of the ash pile.

Lmao Trump has less than 30 days left and he's burning the place down. He vetoed this bill because it was going to re-name military bases.
Let that sink in.
And while you're thinking about that, think about Trump telling Moscow Mitch he wants 2k for every American. I wonder if that has anything to do with Mitch congratulating president elect Biden after the electoral college votes..

You just can't bring yourself to say 'good job Mr President' can you?
Against every fiber of your being?
Against your religion?
Your hate for traditional America runs that strong?
Your love for the left runs that strong?
We have a name for people like you. People who are not open to all points of view.
Cult members.

You have absolutely no proof of that. None.
So why say it like it is 100% fact?
If you hadn't been so anti Trump for the past 5 years? Then ok what you say I might give some leeway for. But when you have been so blatantly one sided for so long?
And this is the best you can come up?
Then no. You have no credibility and neither does your statement.
It is pure Kool aid talk.

If Trump had legit reasons for vetoing these bills, then fine let's discuss it. But he has been too busy golfing and watching Fox news to participate in the negotiations in congress to let them know what he wanted / didn't want in the bills. He has been completely MIA and incoherent policy wise, and then he jumps in for the first time AFTER the negotiations are long over.
Case in point: all of the things he is pointing to as reasons for vetoing the government funding bill WERE IN HIS OWN WHITE HOUSES REQUEST TO CONGRESS FOR FUNDING. Let that sink in.
It's fake populism to rile up idiots, borne of Trump's temper tantrum after losing. Next time, find a populist figure who actually can be bothered to put in the legislative work and engage with congress upfront and have clear priorities. You have to care about actual policy, and Trump clearly doesn't.
These bills aren't perfect, but they are the business of governing and need to pass. Trump is just crapping in the pool to assuage his own ego, as usual. The public good has nothing to do with it.

Being the narcissist that Trump is, I have no doubt that some of what you said played a part in it.
But, I also know he is a patriot. Is not a globalist. And genuinely cares about America. So I believe that also played a big part in what he has done the past 2 days. I mean he has stated in interviews from 25 years ago how he feels about America.
And I absolutely cannot say that about 99% of the rest of American politicians.

Yes I know what it said. And you picked one item out of 6 to harp on.
Pretty disingenuous. Plus for Trump? It is a pretty big point of contention. He is against the destruction of traditional American culture, and renaming bases for SJW reasons does that. It may not mean much to you. But it does to a lot of people. So to pick that as the ONE and ONLY reason he did this is nit picking x 1000000.

I'm not going to pretend to know what is and isn't in this Bill but a stimulus Bill shouldn't have to be 6K pages in length nor should it have irrelevant crap about renaming military bases in it. The way the US passes laws is fukking retarded.

Weird excuse, but as usual you people are petty and embarrassing.
"President Donald Trump has vetoed the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) because it fails to remove Section 230—the liability shield that protects social media companies, among other reasons.
“Unfortunately, the Act fails to include critical national security measures, includes provisions that fail to respect our veterans and our military’s history, and contradicts efforts by my Administration to put America first in our national security and foreign policy actions,” he said in a Dec. 23 statement. “It is a ‘gift’ to China and Russia.”
