    Benchpress to Squat Ratio

    Hey guys,

I’ve noticed my bench press to squat ratio seems a bit weird. I feel like compared to my squat I should be benching more. Here are some bits of info

    I’m ~162lbs / ~73kg
    Bench: 235 (recently)
Squat: 390 (probably around 365 rn tho)
I can clean 280, if that means anything.

What are you guys’ ratios? Higher? Lower? Should I be heavily focusing my upper body? Idk!

    407 squat
    302 bench
    452 deadlift

    Best recent lifts in pounds.

Everyone's different, there's no official ratio. Symmetricstrength is one way to gauge balance.

    Opposite problem here OP... xD

My bench is 94% of my squat. That should not happen.
    Bench: 350
    Squat: 405
    Deadlift: 505

My bench and squat were about equal for my first year or so. After that bench progress slowed to a crawl and squat keeps progressing. Current bests in my sig. I had previous gymnastics experience, which probably led to a disproportionately high bench press/squat ratio when I started lifting.
