This was my first smoker 7 years ago.
I learned a lot from this fight, especially fighting an experienced opponent who turned pro his next fight according to one of my brahs who was there and is deep in the MMA community in my city, and apparently heard of this guy
I'm the one in the blue shirt
Basically, I was Muay Thai style and he was boxing/karate style.
Things I learned:
-take it easy starting out, check out their stance and see where they are weak. I noticed this guy had a boxer stance with snapping karate kicks, so I decided to target his legs because I knew he wouldnt be able to check because of his stance.
-after the 3d kick in the vid, you can see his knee cave in, and I noticed an expression on his face, I knew i had him at that leg at this point because it was getting weak + his facial expression so i just kept on targeting it
-keep your hands up. this one was fixed yeaaars ago and shortly after this fight. I use to rely on my ape index too much and thats the **** that will get you caught
overall it was a good learning experience and i cant wait to get inside the octagon, hopefully 2021. Just came back from shoulder surgery so i have to get my lifts and conditioning up first, then i have to start training heavy BJJ+ boxing so I hope by September next year ill be ready for another fight hopefully if this covid **** clears up
