Trying to understand. I've seen all the content, I'll just do raid finder next week to see the new raid. What's the purpose of rerunning the same content that's slightly harder just to get a little bit better gear just to run the same content slightly harder? Are people really gonna do this for months?
Also when did they start calling PvE content "seasons" seems weird to me
old wow you wanted to gear so you could defeat actual new content.

I do appreciate the fact that they let you basically choose your own leveling experience. If you create a new level 1 character, you can select how you want to level all the way to 50, which expansions you want to do, whether it's for nostalgia purposes, fun, or because you never tried out those expansions.
All that to say, every WoW expansion is always the same thing... new zones, new cosmetics (mounts/gear), maybe a new race/class, maybe a new BG/arena map, some new abilities that get old before you're even max level usually. This time they added some extra flavor with covenants, legendary crafting, The Maw, and the rogue-like-simulator Torghast. New ways to unlock upgrades along the gear treadmill. But that's all WoW is, a gear treadmill. Heavily RNG dependent, mixed with the factor of how much you can play per day/week. A lot of people like gear treadmills, because even incompetent or bad players will eventually outgear the average player, giving them a feeling of progression and power superiority.
This time around, because I recognize what WoW ultimately is, I'm not making an alternate characters. Just gonna enjoy working on a main, until eventually the main is at the peak for whatever the current content is and I gotta wait the weeks/months before the next new raid / feature. It's people who have 1 main 9 alts that I can't understand. Imagine feeling the need to get gear consistently on 10 characters.... 10 sets of dungeons/quests/PvP to worry about daily, and 10 sets of mythics/raids/PvP to worry about weekly. No thanks.Last edited by Visel; 12-13-2020 at 10:35 AM.
