Good lift. I just did what was supposed to be my shoulder workout and decided to do pause reps with 165 on flat to start, got it for 8. Did some lighter db's for shoulders.

Do you think it's better to work with pause reps for a few weeks? My goal is to get 225 by 3/30. Right now I guess my max would be 205, maybe slightly higher but not much.

No video but a couple hours after shoulders with some bench thrown in I found some pretty good lighting at the top of the staircase.

Good for shoulder/arm...not so much for my hairline lol.

@BH. I am telling you, you need to order that reverse hyper.

I am still nursing the back. Limited to leg press to train legs. I have let my fat drift up quite a bit in the last 5 months. I have lost almost all leg definition. This is as close to 'ripped' as I come to looking with a leg pump from tonights workout.

Going to start dropping some weight when I get motivated.

That's fantastic. I don't remember how long it took for the sciatica to disappear. It was 1993, after all , but it vanished and never returned.

Ezra I'd say yes (on the pause reps & on the goal), but really just you know, bench with progressive overload, if you have been doing the same lift the same way you get adaptation so maybe change the grip width, slower descent etc.

Finished my test week with Deadlifts yesterday!
Was feeling pretty sore from testing squats and bench previous days (and still doing workouts), so took the warmup nice and slow.
Hit a PR of 475 (vid attached) which felt good, then psyched myself out for my 495 attempts.
    Goodmornings 3x15 @ 135
    supinated lat pulldowns 3x12
    face pulls 3x12

1 month out from state drug tested PL championship, hit PRs in all three lifts, feeling good. Will go heavy/hard for the next three weeks and hopefully hit some big PRs end of Feb!

You must be limited to 1-arm. That rig is good, but not having anything to lock your body into would make it tough to use any amount of weight.

If you bought another rig like that and fastened the pulley to the bottom cross bar, and then hook the cable to the upper, you could do seated work and rows. You could really hit a lot more angles on the cheap! It would be drawing the bar into and back on the hooks and be quite stable!

    There you go, good work!

I just had the most bizarre workout. I tried to pull 365, couldn't budge it. Dropped to 345, same thing. I got 345x3 last workout. I have no idea what was up with that. Had to stop and add up the weights. Just feeling weak today I guess.

It happens man, as long as you did what you had to do, just chalk it up as a down day and try and do better next time around.

Thanks man. I just did sets of 135 on rows and some form work on deads with 225. Followed that with a good bicep workout and done.

    Made me laugh.

A snippet from an email I sent to a friend the other day: "I was ****ing weak yesterday. I've been experimenting with clusters and concluded that they weren't very good. Then yesterday on an 8 rep set of deadlifts I struggled to get 2 reps. Clusters to the rescue! I did 4 sets of 2 reps with 10 second breaks between clusters. I'm reconsidering their worth. "

Crappy day, legs were not fully recovered to attempt 20 repper, but I gots me a PR in Front squat 265 x 1

Here is some weak overhead work with 145-

Went home ate and did some floor pressing (no vid, just getting into these) 130 x 14, 145 x 3. It's pretty ugly how I get the bar in position here, I roll it while sitting on the floor and use my thighs to lift and lean back at the same time LOL.

Way to go man, keep getting er done

Todays workout and last 5x5 workout till May, going to a bodybuilding routine now. Felt good, BOR was a little sloppy should have dropped the weight about 10lbs per side, but still got 5x5. Did not get 5 reps on my last set of bench, that last set was difficult.

This was my 3rd attempt at this and the last rep was a little sloppy. First two attempts I failed on the third rep. First attempt I hit the spotter arm and crashed and the second attempt I hit the j-hook as I was re-racking.

I was a little nervous cause I went heavy on the squat and the bent over rows yesterday, thought maybe I would wake up with some tingling at least, but no, nothing. That is such a good sign for me and that brings up my confidence as well. Getting up in the morning, getting up slowly because you don't know how the pain is going to be, is the worst man!

    I hear you.
Actually, after I tried 495 twice and couldn't get it, I dropped to 425 for a few reps and failed the first.
Got a little pissed at myself, took 2, then ripped that MF for a double

@BH & FLEX: great work over the weekend! Good pics/lifts, strong effort!

My only 'exercise' over the weekend was finishing up cutting up and stacking a couple downed trees on my property... 'only' - because I was sore yesterday!

    Nice Lifting Flex!

My gym might be closed today due to the snow, which sucks because today will be the start of my bodybuilding routine which I love much better than the 5x5 strength routine I was working on

My routine tonight if the gym is open will be

    Back and Bi's
    Lat pulldowns
    Deadlifts
    Close Grip Cable Rows
    One Arm Dumbbell rows
    Standing barbell curls
    Sitting Incline Dumbbell curls

Good lift, is there a reason why you use a belt to bench?

Feels better with heavier weight. I've had issues with back spasms in the past so I wear it for most exercises now. It helps with keeping core tight, pushing against it.

Nice work going on here. Motivating me to try to do something. First 'heavy' benching in a long time. Been working reverse grip. Decided to see what I had in me with 315 tonight.

First 1 1/2 reps felt too heavy, then if flipped my thinking in my brain and decided to push harder. You can literally see the speed pick up. The brain is a weird thing and I still cant get myself to really push with the fear in the back of my head.

I was happy with this though. Not great, but certainly not terrible 315x6

Great to see everyone getting after it. I’ve switched some things up and am doing upper lower split. For upper I roll through heavy barbell 5 rep sets, medium dumbbell 8-10 rep sets, volume machine 10-15 rep sets workouts. Leg days are always squats, deadlifts, leg press and I go by feel but usually 5-8 rep sets on squats and deads 10 rep sets on leg press.

Had a great session today. A month into dieting and getting into the groove. Was benching 235 for my rep sets, 145 rep sets for OHP which I haven’t been able to do for a long time due to shoulder issues. Felt great! No vids but I’ll try to sneak some in eventually.

I've never used a belt for benching but with this bulging disk I am wonder if I should use it for all my lifts...

Good lift ID, keep em coming.

    Always waiting on the videos
