Yesterday's single bench - about RPE 8. Felt pretty good. 6 seconds of your day to watch :P
I continue to like the approach of a heavier single to open, followed by RPE-regulated working sets, and higher-intensity accessories. I have more energy through my working sets, the intensity doesn't stack fatigue as much, and I still feel the same burn etc at the end of a workout.

Heavy single from my last day of week 1 of my new program: still really loving it!
I am back to sumo for deads since I am two months out from NA IPL Championships. 495 felt really easy - had at least 2, maybe 3 in me. Working on a slightly different approach to slack pull.
I still really like the dynamic start with raising and lowering my hips, but really struggle to keep from losing slack when I do it. Tried the dynamic start, but thinking of slack pull until almost breaking the floor as gear 1, then switching into second gear as I break the floor. I'll have to see how it goes the next few weeks on my heavy singles.

Labor Day Stone workout.
This is my last set doing a newer exercise with 155# stone, BOR to chest and in one motion standup while keeping the stone on the chest. Last set was 7 reps here and this was my top set and I was completely fried while doing it.
One hour of stones (presses, shouldering, situps) along with a few sets of 20 of neck extensions and I'm fuked, my mid-section, lats, lower back, and biceps feels like one of these stones, rock hard right now, my CNS feels like I dead lifted something like 500#.
This was a good exercise here-

Good work FLEX and ell-dub-dub!!
Sun for my '4th' workout I'm a little unsure what to do - the program I have has both alternate/light bench but also some tempo squats etc - but Monday is my squat day so not sure what I want to do. Maybe I'll just skip the Sunday program and do my own accessory work.
Yesterday did a morning lift which isn't my forte. 465 felt heavier than it should have, but that's ok - got it done and moving on!

Good deads day yesterday. Single at 507 felt really good (RPE ~8) and the ol slack pull is coming along.
One of my sets I misloaded the weight so only one side came up which as pretty funny. I only put it on tiktok so not planning to post here but we've all done it.
Have a great weekend all!

New overhead press variation with 100# plate. The hand placement, hence elbow position plus weight distribution is what makes this a better exercise than barbells, and bells because the distribution and elbow position too.
After the filmed set I added 15# and did 6 reps plus 10 side bends each without putting the weight on the floor, it was a good 2-3minute full body blaster.
Sure someone has done these before, but people forget the GOOD exercises when equipment gets into their hands, take away all the fancy chit and I bet (If you are creative) you'll get something better in return, training with the least and minimal time becomes the most productive workouts.

Monday's version of Keeping Pepper at a Sane Intensity went well, 469 squat felt light and I had about 2 more in me. Continuing to learn many of the main powerlifts are better performed at submaximal effort, while accessories are a good time to push it to max.

So bench went... ok. Doing 'meet' lifts all week.
Opener at 325 moved easy so jumped to a planned 341 PR attempt, which felt really heavy out of the rack - threw me off a bit so I rushed it. Just did a touch and go which I did lock out but it would have been reds. Tried it again and lost tension and failed. Tried 336 which was a grinder but I'm thinking it would have gotten whites!
Yesterday deads were like the bench... just ok.
Opened at 535 which was smooth, then jumped to 557. It was actually moving well but I shifted to far forward and lost balance. Had to catch the weight and it dipped a bit before I was able to lock it out. That took it out of me and my 562 attempt was poor from the start.
The week was still a success though with a nice PR in squat, a tiny PR for bench, and lifted my PR for deads (even if it would have been redlighted). Feeling pretty good with one more cycle before my next comp.

Freaking solid man!
You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to PhDPepper1111 again.
It's deload week and hit a couple singles and quite a few reps at 225 lbs. I swear I'm gonna get 405 for 10 sometime in the near future. All time to pr is 7 and all time max is 505 or so.

Low incline dumbbell presses yesterday with 105 lbs:
Squat single today at 425 lbs. Yes this sucks. I will have 500 on the bar by Christmas or die trying.

Last time I used them was back in March, so I was glad to throw around 105 on Saturday.
I have 300 lbs of plates for them so technically I could load them up to 160 lbs each but I won't ever need to.
I'm going to try for 110 next Saturday; that's eight 12.5 lb plates on each.Insta: flexjs

No pics or vids, but I did break a weld on my cable machine last week while doing some seated cable rows. It sucks that I have to now order the part (I already replaced it), but still kind of cool that I was doing enough weight to actually break the weld. I have had the plate loaded machine for 5 years, so it might have been just a wear and tear thing over time and it finally broke. It's good to go again now though.

During the year I just do 75 lb dumbbells at Planet Fitness (the max there) and no barbell, but during the summers I'll go to my gym at work when it's less crowded and do heavier dumbbells and barbell. When I try the heavier ones, they mentally feel really heavy at first but I didn't really lose any strength over the year.

I'm basically on call 24/7, last night was a long night.
Here's my afternoon pick me up squat set - 156 x 51
(45, 5, and 5.5 collars) = 156 - hardcore, no rack.
I may do some floor presses today, if so that'll be floor presses 4 days in a row (see my 1 set a day for same muscle group thread).

I did something to my right heel/achilles and now driving into work with traffic is making it worse. Or it could be the driving that did it.
But I need to do some chest/back/bis today so at least weights keeps the pressure off of my foot. Same with swimming.Make It a Great Day! Just call me Dusty. It's a Clown š¤” World out there.

LMAO. Thanks.
But seriously I was having a lot of joint pain and it was killing my lifts. I didn't even deadlift all summer due to hip pain.
Taking Naproxen daily for the last few weeks and started supplementing with Collagen and MSM 2 months ago. Seems to be helping. Less pain and lifts going back up and I started deadlifting again 2 weeks ago.Insta: flexjs
