Made me laugh.
A snippet from an email I sent to a friend the other day: "I was ****ing weak yesterday. I've been experimenting with clusters and concluded that they weren't very good. Then yesterday on an 8 rep set of deadlifts I struggled to get 2 reps. Clusters to the rescue! I did 4 sets of 2 reps with 10 second breaks between clusters. I'm reconsidering their worth."
It is no measure of health to be well adjusted to a profoundly sick society.
It's easy to not be afraid of tigers when you're sitting in your living room watching a television program about tigers. When you're in the jungle where the tigers are, it's quite a different story.

Crappy day, legs were not fully recovered to attempt 20 repper, but I gots me a PR in Front squat 265 x 1
Here is some weak overhead work with 145-
Went home ate and did some floor pressing (no vid, just getting into these) 130 x 14, 145 x 3. It's pretty ugly how I get the bar in position here, I roll it while sitting on the floor and use my thighs to lift and lean back at the same time LOL.

Way to go man, keep getting er done
Todays workout and last 5x5 workout till May, going to a bodybuilding routine now. Felt good, BOR was a little sloppy should have dropped the weight about 10lbs per side, but still got 5x5. Did not get 5 reps on my last set of bench, that last set was difficult.

Whiney Bitch Saturday Bench Session.
Had an OK bench session for the first time in months. Shoulder was not quite pain free, but not as bad as usual. Got a single at 325 lbs with my regular (original) slingshot and a triple with the Maddog Slingshot.
This was my 3rd attempt at this and the last rep was a little sloppy. First two attempts I failed on the third rep. First attempt I hit the spotter arm and crashed and the second attempt I hit the j-hook as I was re-racking.

I was a little nervous cause I went heavy on the squat and the bent over rows yesterday, thought maybe I would wake up with some tingling at least, but no, nothing. That is such a good sign for me and that brings up my confidence as well. Getting up in the morning, getting up slowly because you don't know how the pain is going to be, is the worst man!

Well that didn't happen.
Had a good squat session regardless. I think when lifting heavy in one's mid-50's one must always strike a balance between being wreckless and being a Whiney Bitch. More so when recovering form a back injury.
Got a single at 415 beltless with sleeves only:
and a a single at 450 with belt and knee wraps:
And my cardio for the day 325 for 6 reps to finish the session:

I hear you.
Actually, after I tried 495 twice and couldn't get it, I dropped to 425 for a few reps and failed the first.
Got a little pissed at myself, took 2, then ripped that MF for a double
@BH & FLEX: great work over the weekend! Good pics/lifts, strong effort!
My only 'exercise' over the weekend was finishing up cutting up and stacking a couple downed trees on my property... 'only' - because I was sore yesterday! Why NOT?

Nice Lifting Flex!
My gym might be closed today due to the snow, which sucks because today will be the start of my bodybuilding routine which I love much better than the 5x5 strength routine I was working on
My routine tonight if the gym is open will be
Back and Bi's
Lat pulldowns
Deadlifts
Close Grip Cable Rows
One Arm Dumbbell rows
Standing barbell curls
Sitting Incline Dumbbell curlsOn the list for Bannukah

Nice work going on here. Motivating me to try to do something. First 'heavy' benching in a long time. Been working reverse grip. Decided to see what I had in me with 315 tonight.
First 1 1/2 reps felt too heavy, then if flipped my thinking in my brain and decided to push harder. You can literally see the speed pick up. The brain is a weird thing and I still cant get myself to really push with the fear in the back of my head.
I was happy with this though. Not great, but certainly not terrible 315x6

Great to see everyone getting after it. I’ve switched some things up and am doing upper lower split. For upper I roll through heavy barbell 5 rep sets, medium dumbbell 8-10 rep sets, volume machine 10-15 rep sets workouts. Leg days are always squats, deadlifts, leg press and I go by feel but usually 5-8 rep sets on squats and deads 10 rep sets on leg press.
Had a great session today. A month into dieting and getting into the groove. Was benching 235 for my rep sets, 145 rep sets for OHP which I haven’t been able to do for a long time due to shoulder issues. Felt great! No vids but I’ll try to sneak some in eventually.

Maybe try. Like I said, I've had issues with back spasms so it serves a purpose. I've had to stop a workout back a couple months ago as my back started to tighten up so bad. I never wore it on bench either but since trying I feel like my form is better and my back is less tight after. I feel like pushing against the belt with my abs helps a lot for stabilizing my lower back.

If you have not figured me out yet, we all have our own self-imposed standards. I was really hoping that I would get 8. I know that is unrealistic given how little benching I have done, but it is hard to go backwards. So I am OK with it, but I think I have more in me to come. Shoulder is feeling best it has in years. Might bring in a 5x5 just for bench.
Thanks for making this thread. I look forward to coming in here and checking out what everyone is up to. It actually servers as a little motivation and accountability. Hopefully some improvements to come!
Hope the back continues to cooperate. I can relate for sure!RAW lifts

I do the same.
Heh, yes all relative, but dang! Great work!
Very much agree!
Since I've been updating a lot I've considered my own diary thread... but for now happy to post here and see the work of others too!
Yesterday was squat day - medium work week with 3 weeks left of work before rest week.
worked up to singles: 375, 395, 395, 395
focused on form and overall felt pretty good. Nice brace, breathing good, got out of the groove on #2, but otherwise felt solid.

Ill check it out, see how it feels.
Its why I made it so we can all share our lifts, progress ideas ETC, it is definitely not made for unsoliciated advise unless of course someone ask for it.
The reverse hyper is almost in stock and I am on the verge of purchasing it, back feels great but today I did a hell of a lot of shoveling (snow blower sucks!) and it is very tight.
I think a lot of folks have journals, think of this thread as a one-stop-shop where everyone post their workouts from time to time, but not in text, but via videos! TEXT ARE NOT PERMITTED IN THIS THREADOn the list for Bannukah
